PSN delivers demo duo

In August, Sony added a playable demo for its shadowy action adventure Folklore to the PlayStation Network. It may come as some surprise, then, that a new demo for the game has been added to the PSN this week as part of Sony's recurring Thursday update. This time out, gamers can take a tour of the Fairy Realm as the game's primary protagonists, Ellen or Keats. Developed by Game Republic, Folklore was released earlier this month exclusively for the PlayStation 3.

Also appearing this week on the PSN is a free trial of Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights. Juiced Games' street racer features a mix of both racing and drifting gameplay. The game also plays heavily to its tuner roots, with an emphasis on car customizations and modifications. Juiced 2 is slated to arrive on the PS3 on October 22.

Sony also noted that Calling All Cars! has been discounted to the tune of $4.99 until October 25. God of War designer David Jaffe's first foray into bite-sized game development, the multiplayer-centric game first zipped onto Sony's downloadable service in May.

    OMG PSN content is coming so slow... The only thing that's really captured my attention is the Ratchet & Clank demo - I thought I might rent it now I know I want to buy it.

    What I want to know is WHERE THE HELL IS HOME? We were supposed to have it in October, and October is almost gone now without a peep from Sony. My guess is that it's not even close to ready and they're either going to say nothing or wait until the 31st to say it'll be ready sometime in 2008. I wish they'd just open the stupid thing up as public beta and at least let us mess around in it. It's not like it's an MMORPG where people are going to be freaking out over a character wipe if they need to do it.

    I'm so frustrated that I bought a PS3 - I should have waited until 2008 but I really thought Sony would have put more out by now.

    Folklore is a pretty boring game to me, anyways getting the demo is pretty pointless, especially there being 2 now. i have like all the demos in psn except folklore, lol

    Sony release a Call of Duty 4 demo for ps3 Home beta Metal gear Onlne demo Kane and Lynch demo u have great success if u release all theres games next week

    well it isnt too bad..not htere best updates but...the demos arent to good, however...i like watching the HD videos..uncharted rules and i like to see how they make games..i hope to be a game dev when i get older so....

    that juice 2 demo is not that bad, (even though thisweek was weak on the psn) its a nice online racing game... my opinion. folklore......... ok am almost beating the damm thing already, c'mon they should have given us something else.

    My god, the Folklore demo is GREAT compared to the 1st demo!!! I was wondering if it was the same, but it's WAY better!!!

    But juiced 2 is really boring, and the "drift" challenges reminds me TOO MUCH of ridge racer... Good update anyway. And now that lair was given as a free game with the purchase of the ps3, I just went to get it (best price warranty of 30 days) for free . And the game is way better than the gamespot score , it's NOTa great game, but it's a good game that's for sure. I would have put 7.0, not "abysmal" or something! They said the control was bad but even my grand-father killed dragons!!! And he never played a game before (the simple controls HELP a LOT for casual gamers! For me, it's just another challenge )

    Sad they give us demos for games that arent high in public interest when they could give us demos of Assassins creed, Unreal Tournament 3, or Haze.

    Americans shouldn't complain too much about their PSN updates, in Europe and Australia on the PSN store, we're still waiting for Everyday Shooter, Symphony of the Night and Tekken online. Bad Sony, bad!

    I loved the first demo. I like shiny things and have HDTV (CRT with all the resolutions) so I think another demo, though odd, couldn't hurt anyone. Some people are very whiny about FREE content. It's FREE! Deal. There are gigs and gigs of demos on PSN for your enjoyment so ENJOY ALREADY!
    As for me, since today is payday and I've planned to buy my FIRST PS3 game today, I am choosing Folklore.
    Folklore is very shiny and it's a genre I know and love.
    I hope, in the future sometime, there may be a sequel to Okami for PS3.
    THAT would be AWESOME!!

    Just got done watching a download of Return to House on Haunted Hill in HD on my 360 after a marathon gaming session with Puzzle Quest, an awesome XBL game. Oh, and played an awesome demo of Jericho the other day. And, then I read this article to see what's up with the PS3 crowd. Looks like they've gotten two pathetic demos in and it's making big news. Hundreds of people are celebrating. How pathetic for a system costing $600 that's been out for a year. Then I start laughing at those people foolish enough to own one - until I remember that I'm one of them.

    wow FullSurface is it? Cant wait for this game I went on a forum and there was a test to see which were real pictures and which were IN GAME footage. And the cars looked so much like real life it was actually difficult to tell! The gameplay, realism and graphics on this will be sweet!!!!!

    I will totally get Calling All Cars now that the price has been reduced. It seemed like a great game, but not one I could justify 10 bucks on.

    One Folklore demo is focused on the combat side of things, and the other is more on the story. I've got the game and I can tell you it's fantastic. Have a look at both demos to get a fuller picture.

    I'm glad I gave Folklore a shot after playing the first lackluster demo. For some reason I couldn't get into that demo, but in the actual game, I'm completely immersed into it's story and characters. Excellent game.

    Not sure why they released another Folklore demo. People that liked the first one more than likely bought it (like me). Still don't get why it was rated so low, its a good game for those who like the genre. Juiced 2...eh, not really into racing games, but thats me.
