To usher in the arrival of the slimline GeForce 8800GT, Nvidia and EA today announced that registration has opened for GeForce LAN 4, which will take place from November 16-18 in Alameda, California. Registration is limited to 450 participants for those interested in bringing their PCs to compete in LAN games and tournaments, and costs $25. General admittance is free for those who just come for the festivities sans their PC.
LAN games and tournaments will be held for Crytek's Crysis, which just so happens to have a release date of November 16, as well as Valve Software's Team Fortress 2, which was part of the five-in-one megacompilation The Orange Box released earlier this month. The PlayStation 3 version of Madden NFL 08 will also be on hand. Proceeds of the event will benefit Get Well Gamers and Alameda County Food Bank. Check out the GeForce LAN 4 Web site to register and find out more on the event.
