Ex-teen heartthrob joins Tekken cast

After years of silence surrounding the project, the film adaptation of Tekken appears to be inching closer to the megaplex.

A teaser poster for the film surfaced in October, followed by a Variety report placing Dwight Little, director of Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid, Steven Seagal's Marked for Death, and Free Willy 2: The Adventure Home, in the director's chair.

Now the film apparently has an actor attached to it as well. In a post on the fan forums of the official Web site of actor Luke Goss (above), an administrator has posted the news that Goss just signed on to play the part of British boxer Steve Fox (below), who joined the series cast in Tekken 4.

Goss rose to prominence in the mid-'80s as one-third of the British pop group Bros. After the band broke up, he turned to acting, and has since appeared in films like Blade II and Charlie.

He is also set to appear later this year in Hellboy II: The Golden Army.

    first of all, video games are meant to be video games not movies, Hollywood is just out of ideas so now they have to create movies based on books, comics etc. or remakes. and this luke goss guy was pretty good in hellboy II but i don't think he can pull off steve.

    this movie is going to ruin the name of tekken.

    Why the hell would anyone bother watching this trainwreck or even bother reading about it is beyond me. Go play some Tekken instead and save yourself from this future abomination.

    This film stinks of fail and lose. But I bet It's going to be awesome! Clearly with a director like that! I'll be sure to book MONTHS in advance to get early screenings!

    this movie is gonna blow. i'm a gigantic fan of tekken but come on? why cast steve fox first? he is sooo not an important character.... whos playing jin? whos playing kazuya? who is afraid of seeing a live action juggle? ugh. i hate video game movies. and uwe boll. and crappy filmographys. **** ****

    If you take the number of letters from Dwight little's name, add them to the total number of letters in Uwe Boll's name and multilpy them by a factor of 10, it will equal an infinate SUCK equation!!!!!!!!!!!

    I love Tekken, but I have little faith in this movie. Too many characters for one movie, so the story will either jump around way too much or only focus a 3 or 4. Either way, there's no way this can be done correctly.

    Man!!, I'm sicking tired of hearing people complain about Tekken's Director having filmed Free Willy 2, one of the best productions ever made along with Anacondas 2. Both almost won an Academy Award............

    Look at that they have the same nose.....hehehe so far so good. To know the actor look (almost) alike the creator. Just hope the rest will match the player as well. Now that I think about who is gonna play Jin. He better be Japanese or Asian. Or bonny ass guy.

    I just hope that the required viewing by the director is not of the horrible Street Fighter movie and the yet-to-be-seen-by-me DOA. The animated Tekken movie was horrible let's just hope it's a couple of notches above the 1st Mortal Kombat movie as I do love Tekken.

    dead_god, if they go through the trouble of getting the Tekken name (Or Doom, or Resident Evil, etc.) then they may as well make it accurate. If they're not going to make it accurate, then why not make their own original movie?

    Doesn't it seem counter-productive to go against the license that you were so dead-set on getting? Getting the name alone is just stupid.

    The Tomb Raider movies are by far the best game-to-movie films, HOWEVER, that doesn't mean that they are GOOD.
    Now, on to Tekken.. It is a FIGHTING GAME! A FIGHTING GAME!! Have you ever heard of "Street Fighter movie" or "Mortal Combat"? They lack everything needed for a good movie.
    1. They lack anything anywhere near a back story.
    2. There are no consepts what so ever.
    3. It's a Fighting Game!

    This is a 100% fan project just like most game-to-movie films. Where did Namco go so wrong I wonder.. Maby somewhere between ending the Klonoa series after 2 great games, and making Tekken's fighting grounds 3D, totally ruining the game.
    Tekken Tag is the best Tekken ever, and that will never change no matter how nice the graphics and effects get, nor how much they get the female fighter's breasts bounce, just like DoA - the absolute lowest fighting games have gotten so far, and I bet my balls that some japaneese pervert will keep on cocking up more of them as well as making more hopeless movies, just to satisfy some puberty console-tards.

    I have absolutely no faith that this movie will be good at all. Its such a shame that they throw movies with such potential to directors that wont do it justice. Poor Tekken......

    On the brighter side of things, atleast Metal Gear Solid has the chance to be as amazing as it deserves!
