With Microsoft in the midst of its month-long Summer of Arcade promotion, the game publisher gave Xbox Live gamers a good look at its hand for August. And between Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 and the just-released Braid, that hand has thus far proven to be full of aces.
But what about September? Today, CrunchTime Games said that its overhead shooter Shred Nebula would slot into Microsoft's first weekly Wednesday release for the month, touching down on Xbox Live Arcade September 3. Gamers can venture into the nebula for 800 Microsoft points ($10).
The first effort from indie developer CrunchTime Games, Shred Nebula promises to be an experience unique from the glut of top-down shooters already available on Microsoft's online arcade. As per GameSpot's preview of the game from November, CrunchTime Games has drawn much of its influence from the 1997 competitive shooter SubSpace, and the game will feature a variety of weapons and spaceborne craft, as well as single- and multiplayer modes.
For the most up-to-date look at Shred Nebula, check out live gameplay footage from this week's edition of GameSpot's live weekly show, On the Spot (beginning around the 60:30 mark).
