Microsoft Game Studios may have trimmed its stable of talent in the last year by letting Bungie go independent and shutting down Ensemble Studios, but the Xbox 360 game label slightly offset those reductions today by confirming a slate of new hires.
As reported by Gamasutra, Metal Gear Solid 4 assistant producer Ryan Payton has joined an entirely different "MGS" team as a freshly minted Microsoft employee. Payton is the latest addition to a team that has also recently added David Wu, formerly of Full Auto developer Pseudo Interactive, Gearbox programmer Corrinne Yu, id Software's Kenneth Scott, and Halo scribe Frank O'Connor.
Microsoft said the new hires will all be working on "new and exciting projects within the Halo universe," as well as supporting already-in-development games like Halo Wars and the recently teased Halo 3 Shock Trooper spin-off.
