Today's the big media day for MLB 2K9, as the curtain has been lifted on video footage. We've published footage from the first inning of three games:

St. Louis Cardinals at Chicago Cubs

Boston Red Sox at New York Yankees

Washington Nationals at Kansas City Royals

Earlier in the week, I asked for screenshot requests for the game and, below, you'll find lots of new screens of the game honoring those requests, including looks at Citi Field, New Yankee Stadium, and a bunch of close-up shots of players in action. If you want to seea specific screen below

Finally, I've also included team ratings for all the teams in the game, rated across six categories: Overall, Contact, Power, Speed, Pitching, and Defense.

SCREENS

Three shots of New Yankee Stadium for bkduB77:

Three views of the Mets' new Citi Field for bkduB77:

The Royals' Kauffman Field for bkduB77:

ProfessorFog wanted to see the White Sox' John Danks up close:

Dan Haren snarls at the request of kingobaid:

Cubs starter Rich Harden slinging from the mound at the request of kingobaid:

Lots of folks thought Roy Halladay is underrated in 2K9. Here he is in action at the behest of sammotheman:

mrj513 wanted to see Jerry Hairston and a shot of Great American Ballpark:

A trio of Red Sox--Dustin Pedroia, Jon Lester, and Jacoby Ellsbury--come at the request of stixx211:

The appropriately named Blitzburgh wanted to see some shots of--what else?--PNC Park:

stempler69 had a simple request: Nick Markakis at Camden Yards:

We'll end our screen listing with one from Austin Organs, who wanted to see Josh Beckett:

"thanx bro. liking this game, but have to decide to get 2K9 or MLB 09. tough."

MLB 09 is almost guaranteed to be a much better game, if history shows us anything. Go with The Show.

I can't believe most of these guys here think they are real Baseball video game fans. Come on guys, muster up the cash, buy a friggin PS3 and get MLB: The Show. I know all together it's going to be $550 bucks but guess what, It is OOOOOOHHHHHH SOOOOOOOO WORTH IT!!!!!!!! I've had a PS3 since MLB: The Show 08 came out and still it's the only game I have. Come on guys, if you are real Baseball video game fans, do whatever you have to do to get a PS3 and MLB: The Show. I LIE TO YOU NOT, you'll thank me later. PEACE!

Pictures look good. I hope that the game play is smooth. Plus don't forget the little details, like the fans looking more realistic. If it rains, fans wear rain ponchos or use umbrelas. I realy liked 2k7. I liked the players fluid animations. But the fans looked like they were all cloned. Some looked like they had down syndrome. I like the fact that you had a choice of using a button for batting or using the analog stick. Hope you have the day/ night move in real time. I want to see and feel like I am actually at a real game. With the consoles we have today it should be done. $60 for a game should be a very high qualty game. Especially the way money is tight ,do it with pride in 09! I want to see the fans eating hotdogs and talking to one another all over the stadium. Its the little details that make the game a superior game. Not only do the players should look like thier part but act just as well. So in summary , you did good in the past 2 games, but, step up to the plate this time and hit a grand slam.-OHIO

The graphics look really sharp, but the character models and faces are a bit off. You don't have screenshots of the cover boy/NL Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum? Come on!

Thx for the pics Brian... The game looks great I can't wait for more.
By the way, even though he's listed as a FA, is it possible to have a pic of Manny Ramirez ? He looked awful on 2k8 !

Well they messed up the ratings for the Phillies. They won the world series and they still arent ranked that high (overall 80 in the game). I can name a bunch of great players from the phillies who did great last year and would hope to have better ratings then the 2k8 game. I have a 360 so i can only get one game for that system but it is ok. I just wish that 2k sports would be fair to the other teams that deserve the ratings unlike the yankees and redsox. Like at least give the Phillies an 85 or something cause they are a good team. I think that it is possible for the Phillies to make the playoffs but not winning the worldseries most likely getting to the nlcs game (my true opinion) but i do believe in them.
