Thank goodness. the analog controls were horrible and inaccurate. I had to resort to automatic training because of the accuracy. This is great.

Thanks EA Canada. I knew that it worked better for me in this format. Maybe for others they prefer the analog way. But the bottom line is that, either way you can now enjoy this game.

I must say after playing FN4 last night with the patch... I enjoy boxing with the face buttons way more than the R stick punching. It just feels more natural now. And it just responds better on the buttons. You stagger a guy and move in for the knockdown and it feels real trying to finish him off throwing a flurry of rights and lefts.... that you'd have a hard time pulling off with the R sticks lag. My verdict..... Face Buttons > TPC R stick control. They should have never been removed in the first place!

One thing I'm wondering is if anyone has had any 'Freezing' problems trying to play in Legacy mode? My game freezes at the exact same 'loading' screen with Ali in the background when trying to advance to a fight.

At the very least... give the EA Canada devs HUGE props for listening to the gamers who wanted the face button punching. It's all about giving the gamer plenty of options to play how THEY want to. Well done FN4 team!

I hope the buttons are responsive. I've been using buttons since day one on boxing games, and even though I got use to the right stick, buttons feel more natural. And I agree that the right stick doesn't always give you what you input...especially if you want to do a precise combo. It'll give you a combo but not the one you always want. So I'm looking forward to see how the buttons turn out.

I agree with venom and behaave, the buttons are just more responsive and better for boxing especially if you're an outside fighter. FN4 is a great game but I wouldn't mind seeing some of the suggestions describe by both of these guys in the game, especially taxing guys that body spam by making hooks and uppercuts more dangerous to a ducking fighter like real boxing.

Yeah.... the real problem is the Devs need to address the AI to stop the spamming. Your always going to get idiots no matter what game your playing online. Madden... NHL... Socom etc... always have the idiots looking to cheat. It's up to the Devs to make the game Cheese proof for the most part where spamming only gets you laid out by an uppercut. FN4 is a fun game.... but it still lacks the important goal of rewarding the players who BOX!!! It's perfecting the Sweet Science that should prevail EA... not the Sweet SPAMMING!!!

Yep, your right about that body spamming... When this game came out I wanted buttons soooo bad!!! Ive learned to play it how it is, which is still fun but the body spamming is out of control. I would sacrifice the buttons any day if they took care of the spamming. Remember when you would get random buttons in some online games? Well if the buttons are like that when it comes out ( there like a half a second delay when you hit the button then the punch comes) I dont even want it to tell you the truth. But if its responsive like round 3 then we are good!

I'm fine with the R Stick controls... but I find sometimes they aren't very responsive. Go try the certain training games that call out punches quickly and see how many punches you get wrong or don't register properly. The face button punching just makes more sense in your brain as you can visualize the punches better. Left jab left jab ... Right hand! Pop Pop... BAM!

It's basically the same config from the last game. I'm sure it's going to bring it's mashing cheesers to online play.... but quite frankly... there's been MORE stomach spamming than ever already with FN4 using the R stick controls. So what's the difference? It's the AI that needs a patch imo... where body spammers lose stamina quickly and get knocked out when tagged in the head.
