Jenny McCarthy covering Ubisoft exercise game

Former Playboy playmate now cover girl for camera-enabled exercise game, due out this holiday season.

Ex-television host and actress Jenny McCarthy is no stranger to games, having appeared in last year's Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3. Now, the former Playboy playmate is once again being called upon to flaunt her physical attributes in Your Shape, the upcoming workout game Ubisoft announced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo.

Due out this holiday season, Your Shape is going after the same 30-something female demographic that the best-selling Wii Sports Active targeted. However, rather than using resistance bands or a Wii Nunchuck strap, the game will use a camera peripheral reminiscent of Microsoft's Project Natal, albeit much simpler. The camera will scan players' bodies and let them select which part they can focus on and will then assess their progress by tracking their motions via the pack-in camera. No price for the game has been announced.

While selecting a 1990s pinup to appeal to 30-something women in 2009 might seem a strange choice, it doesn't seem to faze McCarthy, who mentions the fact that she is a working mother herself in the video below. The former Singled Out host will appear in the game as a player's coach, egging them on to work out harder and praising them when they achieve fitness goals.

@rottenwood - you have good memory. I remember Jenny McCarthy on Singled-out as well. She was definitely one of the poster girls during the mid to late-90's.

It's just too bad she didn't get this role BEFORE she ruined Red Alert 3. Gina Carano woulda been way better as Tanya...

I don't get all these people saying how hot/sexy/OMGWTFWANTTOHAVE she is. She looks like if she had any more botox, she'd cave in.

I bet it's going to be a half ass 3d rendering, I wish it was like those interactive porn movies, then maybe I would buy it.

Jenny McCarthy was an unstoppable force when I was in college; every guy's room had a poster of her somewhere. Seeing her as a 'working mother' with a reasonably tasteful product, as opposed to a half-naked jiggle-bomb on 'Singled Out,' makes me feel really old.

Well, Daisy Fuentes and Jenny have both made the MTV Babe-to-Jazzercise transition. Can Serena Altschul be far behind?

Studies seem to indicate there's no link between autism and the vaccinations children receive, but nonetheless it's worth exploring. Back in Ancient China, they used to give people mercury for their ailments... what would've happened if they didn't go back and examine THAT practice to make sure it wasn't harmful? lol.

I guess what I'm saying is just lay off the lady, alright?

It's spelled assess, not asses. I'm very disappointed in you, Tor Thorsen. I think you did that on purpose.

peterphillips's agenda or Jenny McCarthy's agenda? As a game player I could care less about what a Hollywood celeb believes or endorses. (Or her resume and anatomy for that matter! ) But as a parent and as a parent of an autistic child, her actions may or may not be understandable, but they certainly give many of us the creeps.

For clarification, she's more than a former Playmate. She is currently controversial as a parent of an autistic child who advocates against vaccinations that are federally mandated that she believes might cause autism.

Ubisoft invented the camera based on their E3 comments. It is a buy for me as I hope that any fitness game mocks me as it sits there to the degree that I feel compelled to actually get off the couch. Hope springs eternal.

Sounds innovative. The choice of Jenny McCarthy with her background and some of her unorthodox parenting viewpoints could be a distraction though.
