The past few years have seen Capcom score a string of hits with new intellectual property. Today, the publisher revealed that it would be bundling two of the most successful, Dead Rising and Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, as well as the latest installment in its proven Devil May Cry franchise, into one Greatest Hits package for the Xbox 360. Capcom's Platinum Hits Triple Pack will be available on September 8 for $39.99.

Originally released to warm reviews in August 2006, Dead Rising sees photojournalist Frank West creatively hacking his way through a mall filled to capacity with zombies. Capcom followed that success with Lost Planet: Extreme Condition on the Xbox 360 in January 2007. Also securing positive reviews, Lost Planet transports players to a frigid wasteland in which they must survive by slaughtering hordes of hostile Akrids. Both games are slated to receive sequels.

A one-time Sony-exclusive franchise, Devil May Cry 4 made its controversial debut on the Xbox 360 in July 2008. A critical success, Devil May Cry 4 sees new protagonist Nero joining Dante in an effort to vanquish demons. Capcom has yet to announce a follow-up to Devil May Cry 4.

As noted by the publisher, the three games combined have sold over 3 million units in North America.

Should've been released by now. I am surprised there isn't a game page for this triple pack. Anyone know why?

I only have dead rising out of the three ( wich i cant be playing because my 360 broke ) but thats a good game and worth half the price already and i have heard that the other two are pretty sick games as well.

3 good games in one for a reasonable price i dont see why not to buy it unless you already have any of them

i own Dead Rising and DMC4. both are very great games and worth the $40 alone. Lost Planet I dont care about at all. This is still a great bundle though. Now if some good dev would do the same (with games I dont already freakin own. )

This is great for me, cause i got none of the games in the bundle but i like them all 3 (because i played the demo's i can know^^). I can't ignore this :p

Hm, own two out of those three (I tried selling Assassin's Creed multiple times, every store around me said they had too many used ones as is), so Dead Rising is all I'm interested in. If I didn't already own DMC4 (and if this wasn't a 360 bundle...yes, I'm still peeved about it being there) I might still be interested.

This bundle should also come with some of the orignials like mega man 9 and street fighter 2. That would sound better to me. Especially since it costs 40$.

@Kleeyook - Because it's really popular right now to hate the PS3. Sony gets little to no love this gen, and even former Sony fans think there's nothing wrong with all the devs suddenly jumping ship. But I digress, this is still an awesome package that makes me wanna go find DMC4 again...

  • Kleeyook

Why don't u make a bundle like this for PS3?

  • RichUk850

    Posted Aug 12, 2009 8:28 am GMT

Capcom are great, but I don't think they are particularly innovative. Their games' have stuck to the same old school modus operandi for years! Suppose if it ain't broke!!

@Solidsnakehd, your a pathetic small minded fanboy, this article has nothing to do with the console war, its about providing gamers with good titles for a good price, get over yourself and go spout your deluded garbage on a PS3 forum. @ dj_pulserfan, nice to see someone has a brain.

Lets do the math. 20+ million X360 owners. Each of those titles have sold at least 2 mill each. That leaves a massive userbase who haven't played it. Making this bundle = win.

As someone who hasn't beaten any of those games, this is definitely a good deal.

Save your negative moaning people, yeah if you own or have completed the games already.. don't buy it. But hats off to Capcom for trying, why not. If people have missed these classics then it's hours and hours of fun!

On a different note..... I think SF4 was a little bit of a let down. Just didn't have the same magic as back in the day! Maybe the youth disagree?

  • x-2tha-z

    Posted Aug 11, 2009 2:12 pm GMT

I don't see the point. Surely everyone's played at least one of these games? Would you buy the same game twice? I own all three of them so count me out.

  • katanajut

I'd buy this bundle, even though I already have Devil May Cry 4 and have played Lost Planet.

  • Trogeton

WOW all 3 great games and less than 50 bucks that is one of the best bundles I have ever seen

More publishers need to wise up and do this sort of thing if they want to continue to make money from a game after the first 6 months. This is a far better plan to minimise the loss of profit from the pre-owned market then the damn digital distribution model

  • Humikimi

That's actually a really good deal, all 3 games are pretty good games.

Excellent bundle pack for 3 platinum titles. My personal favorite was DMC 4. I thought the game characters had so many weaons and methods and means of attack that i always needed a refresher if i put it down for more than a couple days. Devil May Cry 4 is worth the 39.99 on its own if you have not played it yet. Owning the other 2 games is just the cherry on top for 39.99.

Lost Planet is on the PS3 too

  • Musashi920

    Posted Aug 11, 2009 11:42 am GMT

dead rising and lost planet were exclusives for the simple fact that the PS3 wasn't out yet. If it were i'm sure capcom would have made it for both systems. With this pack I hope they might port them over.

Well at least the sequels will be dual system

I might get this when I find it for $29.99. I want dead rising though and that game is about $20 alone. If you don't have any of these games then I would buy this without a doubt.

  • DarxPhil

    Posted Aug 11, 2009 10:45 am GMT

The Orange Box is still the best deal you can get for games imo. Or at least if your a big fan of Half-Life and TF2 like i am.

  • Get_Shorty

    Posted Aug 11, 2009 10:37 am GMT

OMG this is better than The Orange Box. This should win game of the year! I've only played the demos of these games but never got around to buying them I'm definitely getting this!

    @solidsnakehd

I don't anyone actually cares about who's winning the console war in this story. This bundle isn't meant to save the 360, this bundle isn't gonna declare the 360 a winner nor make the PS3 a loser in any way. This bundle is meant to package good games at a good price. Saying that, I haven't played any of them & I will definitely pick this up as I've wanted to pick up all 3 and at this price you'd be a fool to pass it up.
