Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Collector's Edition unveiled

Like its forebearer, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 isn't a simple PlayStation 3 port of the last Xbox 360 installment in Tecmo's shinobi action series. Besides all the content of Ninja Gaiden 2, the game will sport femme fatales imported from Tecmo's Dead or Alive and an upgraded graphics engine.

Now, though, GameStop is giving further incentive to pick up the title by exclusively offering a $70 Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Collector's Edition. According to the retailer's product page, the special version will include an 80-page book with three parts: a strategy guide, a section with "vibrant Ninja Gaiden art," and a comic book that corresponds to in-game cutscenes and the storyline.

All editions of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 feature a new online co-op mode with more than 30 challenge stages. The M for Mature game launches in North America on September 29 and is explained in detail in GameSpot's video interview below.

    @DDR_Midian: Name other action games in the league of those 3 then you pleb. And the way you originally replied to my comment was a joke. You clearly have not played any of those games or are not smart enough to actually understand what i was trying to say. DMC/GoW/NG have a certain rivalry within the industy mostly from fanboys..wrongly be it but these games are always compared with one another and are the highest rated. This is not an opinion..it's a fact that they are the highest rated. Then you went on about "i can name 3 titles for the spectrum" BS. You're clueless. Just stop posting.

    and also for everyone else who cares so much about gore, you're really gonna let purple fog keep you from this amazing game? i dont understand the logic there... it makes very little difference to me... not even all the enemies in this game are human, so they dont have to have blood! lol

    @DDR_Midian: Gow,DMC and NG are the holy trinity of 3rd person action games. Stop getting your fat nickers in a twist. My original post i stated those 3 games and said Epic win I didn't say other consoles were crap. My fav. genre is action and my fav action games are those 3 and to play them on one console is epic win for Sony.

    Kinda pissed they didn't throw in the soundtrack with the Ayane cover, kinda hard to consider cardboard and some leaflets a full 10 buck value (but I'm a huge sucker for cardboard and leaflets) - anybody getting tired of this GameStop exclusive thing??

    Hmmm... why is it still getting a Mature rating? I could understand it if there was a reason, but it's not like there's graphic violence anymore... I mean, it's laughable like DOA 4 getting a mature rating. Sure some of the end scenes were interesting but they didn't warrant mature ratings.

    Bleh, I don't even know now if I'll be picking up NGS2 since it has less gore. I don't want to pay for a game that's gonna spew purple fog as a replacement either. Lame.

    Less gore is lame (especially the reason he gave), but I'll take boobs over blood any day. I paid full price for the original NG2, and I'll pay full for Sigma 2 also just cause of Co-op and 3 new playable SEXY FEMALE chars. Whatever other new things there are, are just bonuses to me.

    well, i only have a 360, and a ps2, im glad that ps3 owner will get more in this version of the game than we the 360 owners, even though i want it i dont think we can get some downloable content, well if someday i get a ps3 il make sure to play it. but im happy that i have a 360 instead of not having nothing.

    I wasn't going to get this because I bought it on 360 when it was released. I'm a huge Ninja Gaiden fan though so I'll probably end up getting it at some point. It's a great game and the online co-op does sound interesting. It's just a shame they've toned down the gore.

    they're going to need to push the extra features to get people to buy this game at full price once again, the X360 version is less than $20 and has been out 2 years already

    Yes, Sigma 2 will be worth over the original. Unless you plan on playing on all the diffs, you'll finish NG2 very fast.

    Haven't played NGII but want to, busy with other titles. If the updates are worth it I'll pick it up otherwise I'll get it for the 360 for less.

    Anywho I think I'll be picking this up if the gods allow me to obtain a PS3 cheap this summer. . . . the collector's edition doesn't seem to excite me. I'd love me some DLC with it. . . . .that'd make my day lol

    o snap it has multiple doa characters, now for some willy individual to create a nude patch like they did with DOA beach volleyball and the game would be perfect

    I hate how they always make it for Xbox first, then a year or less later rewrap it with so much add ons its practically an expansion pack and then release it for Playstation. Whatever, at least I got to play the game first with an xbox... Lol this happened for both 1 and 2.
