Ubisoft fueling Heroes Over Europe

Parisian publisher picks up Transmission Games' World War II flight combat game for September worldwide release.

When it was learned earlier this year that Red Mile Entertainment's publishing and development deals for Heroes Over Europe had fallen through, it was feared that the Transmission Games-developed World War II flight combat game was killed in action. That notion was dismissed today, as Ubisoft announced that it has signed on to publish Heroes Over Europe worldwide this September for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

The sequel to Heroes of the Pacific, Heroes Over Europe covers a new continent's worth of key air battles from World War II. Players will take flight over London and Berlin with a new game engine powering the series' current-gen debut. The game will also include online multiplayer skirmishes for up to 16 pilots and authentic cockpit re-creations.

Ubisoft is the third publisher to claim Heroes Over Europe. Originally Red Mile Entertainment had been set to release the game in fall 2008. As that window approached, the company brought Atari in to help publish and pushed the release date back into 2009.

I love air combat games, both sims and the arcade varieties, but after being immersed in Battlestations: Pacific for a while now, this title seems a bit mundane.

I was going to gripe about how daft that B-17 looks with 4 bladed props, but the ones in the vid are done right so... I'll let 'em off

Well, it's along time coming, but these console air combat games are not up to speed with the PC flight sims. I'll wait until this game goes on sale before buying.

Just FYI "Games for Windows" =/= "Games for Windows LIVE". Also unless it's been officially announced it could just be a mock-up box shot.

Ubisoft is probably my favorite publisher/developer, so I hope they succeed with this title. It seems like they really haven't had the success with a flight arcade fighter since Crimson Skies, so it would be nice to see them finally hit the mark.

i wont get thi for my PC which means i wont get it for my console, because like FPS's, flying games are much better on a PC. nuff said. Windows Live is extra crispy fail.

Quite simply put is that Win Live is a Pain in the butt. I was involved in the beta of DoW2 which involved using Windows live and could not believe what a crappy service it was. Another pathetic ripoff product by Microsoft... its 'steam' coded by 2yr olds. Needless to say that I did not purchase DoW2 because of this and will not buy any product that uses this service. If it is available for consoles, I hope its for the Wii as I am mainly a PC gamer but do own a Wii as well.... well looks like I won't be purchasing this one...

NO, this game is being offered for consoles as well, so get over the games for windows live thing. Heroes of the pacific was cool on the XBox. Hopefully this one is at least THAT good. I will probably pick this one up.
