Ubisoft fueling Heroes Over Europe
Parisian publisher picks up Transmission Games' World War II flight combat game for September worldwide release.
When it was learned earlier this year that Red Mile Entertainment's publishing and development deals for Heroes Over Europe had fallen through, it was feared that the Transmission Games-developed World War II flight combat game was killed in action. That notion was dismissed today, as Ubisoft announced that it has signed on to publish Heroes Over Europe worldwide this September for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
The sequel to Heroes of the Pacific, Heroes Over Europe covers a new continent's worth of key air battles from World War II. Players will take flight over London and Berlin with a new game engine powering the series' current-gen debut. The game will also include online multiplayer skirmishes for up to 16 pilots and authentic cockpit re-creations.
Ubisoft is the third publisher to claim Heroes Over Europe. Originally Red Mile Entertainment had been set to release the game in fall 2008. As that window approached, the company brought Atari in to help publish and pushed the release date back into 2009.
