Lego Indiana Jones 2 plundering this fall

WBIE and TT Games prepping new blockheaded adaption of famed archeologist's adventures on 360, PS3, PSP, Wii, DS, and PC; includes Kingdom of the Crystal Skull content.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and TT Games have had a good deal of success with taking venerated properties, reducing them to block-sized Lego elements, and adding a humorous bent. So it came as no surprise when, in March, an animator revealed the inevitable next installments in the Lego spin-off series, saying J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter was being Lego-ized alongside a second installment in LucasArts' Indiana Jones franchise.

Indiana Jones always was a bit of a blockhead.

Today, WBIE and TT Games confirmed one of those new games, saying Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues will arrive for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PSP, Wii, DS, and PC this fall. Whereas the first Lego Indy game focused on the first three films in George Lucas and Steven Spielberg's classic action adventure, Lego Indy 2 will include elements from all four films--including the most recent addition, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

TT Games has a number of new features that it will be packing into Lego Indy 2. Namely, the title will introduce the ability for gamers to create their own levels and environments--as well as build on existing ones--which can then be shared. The game will also feature a number of characters from Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, as well as new episodes from the original three films.

From a gameplay standpoint, TT Games has also tweaked character animations, as well as added new vehicles and weapons. The game also features 60 playable characters and will support two-player drop-in, drop-out cooperative play.

    maybe when they make lego games for everything they can make a pack called lego universe witch has ever lego game in it.

    It's awesome that they're releasing this - I put off buying Lego Indy because I knew they would probably release another one with Crystal Skulls content. Lego Harry Potter is also a great idea - I remember mentioning this on a message board when discussing possible other Lego franchises (though still no word on Lord of the Rings - fighting a Lego Golem for the One Ring would be awesome). I just hope they don't try to make seven different games, one for each book.

    Surprized it took this long to announce a Harry Potter version. I'm sure a new Star Trek version will be coming out (maybe to coincide with the next movie). And where's the Marvel/X-Men Lego version?

    I loved Lego Indiana Jones:The Original Adventures,I completed it in 100% but after 2 weeks that I bought it,so I'm definitely getting this one =D

    I don't know how these new Lego games are going to work out. Star Wars was great, because it was still novel and because it already had a great line of Lego toys to build (heh) off of. As all these specialty Lego lines (like Harry Potter) keep rolling out and the series seems more and more commercialized, it's also less fun.

    The only thing up there that's any surprise is the level creator. I've always wanted a full fledged Lego builder with a wide variety of parts to place on vast landscapes. That ideas was what made Banjo Kazooie: N&B so fun; it was pretty much a Lego Builder with over the top parts and a fun physics engine. This feature might be what makes or breaks the series for me.

    so if you dont have the first lego Indy would you still want it. Or is this a lego indy complete like they did with the starwars ones.

    Interesting. I particurally didn't like Lego Indiana Jones. Star Wars was much better.

    I've never bought a lego game, they look fun but I can never bring myself to purchase them
