Map Pack 2 for Activision and Treyarch's critically and commercially successful Call of Duty: World at War may be in the hopper, but the first add-on content has shown no signs of stalling sales. Map Pack 1 debuted to opening-weekend sales of 1 million at the end of March, and Activision said today that the online multiplayer add-on has now been downloaded more than 2 million times worldwide on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

A $9.99 (MSP 800) download, Map Pack 1 contains three competitive multiplayer maps. On the competitive front, the pack includes Nightfire, set during the Allies' invasion of Berlin; Knee Deep, which has players attacking (and defending) a fortified Japanese outpost; and the aptly named Station, in which players do battle in an underground subway system. The pack also includes a zombie-infested co-op map that accommodates up to four players.

Last week, Activision said that Map Pack 2 will arrive for Microsoft's and Sony's platforms sometime in June. As with the first DLC pack, the add-on pack contains three competitive arenas and one zombie-themed level. Map Pack 2 will also include new units, weapons, and additional Xbox 360 achievement points/PlayStation 3 trophies. Pricing details have not yet been revealed.

I can't wait !!!!I I love W@W - something about the gritty-ness feel of the WWII era - new maps the better !!! MW2 going to be insane too I'm sure.

The first map pack was awesome, can't wait for the next. As MW is now its own series, i wonder if they'll make World at War games aswell and drop the COD name completely or even a Zombies game! Anyways i can't wait for any new content whether it be for WaW or MW2!

WaW is my favorite in the Call of Duty series. It is the only one that really feels different. Also, the developers seem to put a lot into the DLC and make the price well worth it.

@ SoNin360 when you play mw you wont be glad you hadn't played it earlier. but both are great, and seem to run on the same engine(idk just guessing). the reasons i like mw:

mw has a special touch that makes it more fun, i like the weapons in it, and sniping is better.

but then again you just cant beat cod + zombies. so waw is great cp, coop(cp & zombie), and mp, but mw has better than great mp.

To the people complaining about paying for new content: #1 - Don't buy it if you don't want it. #2 - You pay $20 for a dvd you watch once, or $8 bucks to go watch a 2 hour movie in the theater, or $15 for a cd...Why not pay $10 bucks for maps you will play for many hours, and give the developers the money they deserve. Would you work for free? I think not.

Glad I never played MW because I've grown to like W@W, a new map pack sounds cool but probably won't be as successful if it means paying another $10, which is likely what it will be.
Oh well I'm a sucker I'll buy it.

the only thing WAW has goin for it is the zombie mode but that gets old after 1 or 2 plays, if Modern Warfare would have came out with another map pack or 2 some people would have never bothered with WAW

The new DLC maps really enhanced the game play for W@W. It really brought back a lot of people like myself to the game after I went back to Modern Warfare.

Map pack 1 revitalized my interest in WaW. The new multiplayer maps range from decent to good, but the really jewel was the new zombies map. Hopefully the next one will not merely be a map, but also new game mechanics as well (more perks! bigger maps! more players!).

Well-deserved, that new Zombie map is great, and so is that Pacific map(I don't really like the other Pacific maps, but I really like this one. =)), even though I'm not fussy on Station...=P Either way, great stuff, can't wait 'til June when the next DLC hits the XBLA!

Sucks to have to pay for new maps. I remember when companies didnt nickel/dime us for things like this. Atleast my L4D Survival Map pack didnt cost anything.

Dude. Another one? If only Infinity Ward could have had this kind of work ethic for Modern Warfare...
