Two months after Killzone 2 made its long-awaited debut on the PlayStation 3, Sony and Guerrilla Games have released the critically acclaimed sci-fi shooter's first downloadable map pack. Titled Steel & Titanium, the add-on has been added to the PlayStation Network today for $5.99 and contains two new maps. The first is set aboard the ISA tech cruiser New Sun, while the second has gamers straddling two high-speed Helghast freight trains.

Following the not-so-surprising announcement of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 earlier this week, a demo for the madcap fighter is now available on the PSN. The sample includes six characters (Ryu, Chun-Li, Strider, Spider-Man, Iron Man, and Wolverine), seven backgrounds, and options to play local multiplayer matches.

The Killzone 2 map pack and the MVC2 demo are joined by a host of other DLC for a number of PS3 titles this week. EA and Criterion have released the Burnout Paradise Cops and Robbers pack for $9.99, and the Little Big Planet Egyptian Mini Pack is available for $2.99. Disgaea 3 has three new character packs available: the Action Prinny and Mid-Boss packs are running at $1.99, while the Dragon character costs 99 cents.

As revealed by EA earlier today, Need for Speed Undercover picked up two packs today. The Challenge Series add-on is free of charge and adds new modes, cars, and events, while the Boss Car Bundle includes eight rides for $4.99.

Guitar Hero World Tour and Rock Band both received an allotment of new playable tunes this week. Activision's rhythm game has been updated with a trio of tunes from Nirvana: "Sappy," "Stay Away," and "Very Ape." As previously revealed, the long-awaited Jane's Addiction album Nothing's Shocking is rocking MTV Games and Harmonix's rhythm title.

On the PSP store, a Patapon 2 demo is now available in advance of the game's May 5 launch. PSP gamers can also pick up the Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero? Li'l Asagi Comes Home add-on pack, which updates the side-scrolling beat-'em-up with a new stage and boss character. The Prinny pack is available for $3.99.

    @xXZak-ataKXx

    Why do people always compare Killzone 2 to Halo 3? Has that become the measuring stick for shooters or something?

    @Tht KiD404

    Killzone 2 kicks so much ass that it is unbelivable if you have a ps3 and not killzone then it should be considered a crime

    Not bad for the map pack, I was guessing $5-$10. I remember downloading the map pack for COD4 for $10, this is a pretty good deal.

    I thought the KZ2 DLC would be free, but six dollars isn't that bad either. But I would have liked it more if it was a little cheaper because three dollars per map doesn't seem like its worth it.

    Just to warn you all MVC2 Demo is only local play.
    no single player
    or online

    Being one of the few that has never played MVC2, it SEEMS to be a pretty cool game, but some schmuck of infinite wisdom thought it was a good idea to release a demo sans the single player experience. Nice way to introduce the series to newcomers, Capcom. Very nice indeed.

    The new maps are fun and original! Freight train was one of my favorite levels on campaign so I'm really glad they designed a multiplayer map of it. Wasn't expecting that! Keep rockin, Guerrilla!

    Just paying for the bandwidth, $6 is a pretty sweet deal. Xbox Live requires a subscription fee, plus has a similar price point for its DLC.

    Big Fan of MVC2, but why did they have the demo only for local multiplayer? Why can't I play against a cpu player? Seems weak, luckily my dreamcast is still hooked up.

    It's cool that they have new maps but this release is weak. I'm upset because well before they releaseed Killzone 2 the news was that they were going to release DLC free and on top of new maps, it'd have new weapons and vehicles. They also mentioned it might include a co-op mode. And this is none of that. Just two maps. I mean, even if they changed their minds on the price, where's the other stuff? I'd still pay $10 or maybe a little more for all of those things than $6 for two measly maps. Love the game and prob play more than I should, but I think this is really disappointing and I'll at least pass for now.

    I'll wait for my credit card to come to get the KZ2 map pack. Marvel vs Capcom 2 demo was so damn stupid I wanted to punch a baby. You can only play 2 player which requires a second controller(I have one) but you need another person to play with you so I just say there beating up a retarded lifeless enemy for 30 seconds and I got so damn bored that I wanted to run over the guy who thought of that stupid frigging idea. Mind you I have a very big and heavy truck that tears apart the road underneath.

    @ RavenSoS
    It's about that for most of DLC. I know the variety pack for COD4 was 10 bucks and there was 3 maps, so it's about three a pop also. It's a reasonable price, they aren't going to make it a dollar or 2 for a couple maps, that's reality. Now if you wait a long time, their could be a price cut in the future, but that's about it.

    Haha really, you think it is ridiculous that for the same price of a value meal from burger king that you can get two brand new maps to a great game that will supply countless hours of entertainment. I don't know where your from but a ferrari must be worth $100

    PSN seems to be on a roll.

    EDIT: Just re-read the article. MvC2 only has local multiplayer?! o_O What is up with that! I coulda sworn Gamespot reported it would have online multiplayer last time...that's so LAME! That's almost as bad as them only offering local play in Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix with the option of only 2 playable characters.

    Darn...I'm glad MvC2 will have online matches, but there's no HD remix
