Wet splashes down at Bethesda
Elder Scrolls firm confirmed as new publisher for Artificial Mind and Movement's stylised shooter; Eliza Dushku to voice lead character.
The fallout from the Activison Blizzard merger left several Vivendi Games titles without a publishing home. However, nearly all have since been picked up by other publishers, with Ghostbusters: The Video Game and The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena landing at Atari and Brutal Legend finding a home at EA, to name a few.
One title that was still lacking a publisher, however, was Artificial Mind and Movement's third-person shooter, Wet. Last week, it appeared as if that situation was soon to be rectified, as many retailers had begun listing Bethesda Softworks as the game's publisher.
Today, Bethesda has confirmed that it is picking up the title, saying the game will arrive this autumn for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Wet is a heavily stylised third-person action game that takes the visual approach of retro films and directors like Quentin Tarantino. It will put the player in the role of Rubi Malone, a mercenary out for revenge.
The game will feature not only a retro look, but also retro sound, with '70s and '70s-inspired music running throughout the game. Rubi herself will be voiced by Eliza Dushku (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Bring It On), who is no stranger to video game voice acting, having worked on Yakuza and the recent Saints Row 2.
