Metalocalypse studio gets into gaming
Newly established Titmouse Games aims for "juicy deviance" with Seven Haunted Seas steampunk action-RPG for consoles.
After Southpeak Interactive's acquisition of Gamecock last year, it appeared that game industry reportage might finally be free of juvenile double entendres. No longer, because Titmouse Inc., the animation studio behind the Guitar Hero series' cutscenes and Cartoon Network's Metalocalypse, today announced the formation of Titmouse Games.
Titmouse Games will create games based on its own intellectual property as well as "handpicked" licenses, with a focus on digital distribution. The company's first big title will be Seven Haunted Seas, an action-role-playing game for unspecified consoles. Characterized by the studio as a dark comedy, Seven Haunted Seas casts players in the role of an undead pirate who must save the world from the evils he set loose upon it while he was still alive.
The developer's official Web site also mentions another project, Dr. Zomba. Developed for the iPhone, Dr. Zomba has been submitted to Apple for approval.
