Behemoth to reveal third game March 18

Castle Crashers was one of several standout titles to flood Microsoft's Xbox Live Arcade last August. The well-received quirky beat-'em-up marked the second original game from San Diego-based independent developer The Behemoth, which had previously been known for the equally off-kilter side-scrolling shooter Alien Hominid.

This week, in a post to its official development blog, The Behemoth offered the first clues on its third game, currently operating under the aptly named working title "Game #3." A screenshot for the game shows what appears to be a tearful Irish shop keeper with a cuboid head being taunted with a massive green diamond. In the background, a seeming army of malevolent robots appears to be guarding a wall of vaults.

The Behemoth expects to debut the first trailer for Game #3 via its blog on March 18, and will be on hand at the Tokyo Anime Fair on March 20-March 21 to offer a first look at an "uber-early" version of the game.

    These guys are not greasy at all. Unless the game REALLY deserves to be more expensive, it won't be. These are the guys that gave out a TON of free DLC codes (out of their own money) because they didn't want people to pay for it, even though Microsoft did.

    I just hope that they price tag doesn't increase. I already have a frowny face when I shell over 1200MS for an arcade title, if they pop this one up to 1600, like Watchmen or Lost & Damned, I'll probably skip it. Let's keep it at 1200, or even drop back down to 800 like the majority of the XBLA titles plz!

    I hope this one is cheap, but still fun! I find myself buying far too many MS points...it's easy to get carried away.

    The best thing about Behemoth is the crazy bosses they create like in castle crashers and in alien hominid. Whatever this is, I hope it keeps the tradition.

    @ Intrakitt, If I'm not mistaken he's referring to the fact that before the patch was released it could take ages to find some players to play with, and by the time they released the patch too few people were playing it to find a good game.

    Yes! Behemoth has had two great quality games so far. I'm pretty sure that this won't disappoint.

    Castle Crashers was the s**t, and well this is a game we can all hope a lot for. It is in my, save money list, hope it isn't that many MSP, 800 is good

    Castle Crashers was ill, coulda been better if it had more levels and a more expansive leveling system. Let's hope "Game #3" can deliver that (ANYTHING WITH A LEVEL SYSTEM IS AWESOME AND CAN MAKE A GAME LAST SO MUCH LONGER!)

    Let's hope it releases bug free. I'm not in the mood to wait around for months while they try and figure out their mistake. CC was a great game, but the company as a whole is lacking big time.

    I liked Alien Hominid and castle Crashers. This is probably going to be a buy for me.
