After several weeks of uncertainty, today Bethesda Softworks has announced the release date for the second downloadable expansion for GameSpot's 2008 Role-Playing Game of the Year, Fallout 3. The Pitt add-on will arrive on March 24, almost exactly two months after the first expansion, Operation Anchorage, arrived.

Like its predecessor, the Pitt add-on will be exclusive to the Xbox 360 and PC and will cost $9.99, or 800 Microsoft points in the 360's demi-currency. Featuring new achievements, the expansion is set in the raider city that has sprung up from the ruins of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Players will be forced to side with one of two factions--the slaves or the raiders--in a growing conflict plaguing the town, which stages regular gladiatorial events players can join.

In April, the final Fallout 3 expansion, Broken Steel, will be released. It has players join the benevolent, knightlike Brotherhood of Steel to track down the remnants of the nefarious patriotic pretenders known as The Enclave. The add-on also extends the main storyline beyond the climactic battle in the mission "Take It Back," after which the game originally ended.

What a big let down! I could not wait to download the Pitt after Anchorage DLC. Did your technicians take a holiday from working on what could have been another bright claim to fame for Bethesda? I knew the mission was about choices from Bethesda's video on the Pitt, but from a great beginning until they took my stuff and opened the gate& sent into the town by the Mad Max type gang, it was like a balloon loosing air slow and steadily! The Trogs were excellent and the Graphics were Bethesda's best but if it was designed to be an RPG aside from the crashes/freezes problems that did exist, I felt it lacked the story line excitment that Bethesda has had in their gripping writing style to date. The Leaders great speech at the end of the (only) mission at his Uptown home along with some great one-liners from his crew kept in pace with the Fall-Out story, but my opinions were from a Loyal Fan ! I played The Pitt twice to make sure (I) did not miss something! It needs either a big patch or a re-write but I doubt that will happen! I love the Fall-Out story and the DLC ideas to extend the game yet with this one greatly saddened by Bethesdas lack of what they know-how to do best!

Because of all the bugs whom has bought it wont get refunded but hopefully they do fix yours too they took it off marketplace for a week i bet so, Thats why yours is crashing maybe JazZMano0 So just keep off it and hopefully youll see you can play soon again once you see the Pitt logo over the DASHBOARD

    Too right punisher111085!

This reminds me of when Marvel UA had downloadable characters released and the update wiped everyones items and didn't even give you the characters. I hope they sort it outer quicker in this instance though cos it was at least a few weeks until the bugs were fixed. My save game is now stuck in a faulty add-on and i can't leave cos I can't play the game. It just crashes.

This DLC has alot of bugs. Freezing when you enter downtown everytime, and exclamation points in red triangles in various spots. They need to make sure that before they release a dlc, that there are no major glitches like these.

TO ALL FALLOUT 3 FANS - DO NOT DOWNLOAD ' THE PITT ' !!!!!!!!

My download crashes EVERY time i try and enter 'The Pitt'. Exclamation marks in red diamonds where various polygons should be, some lag, screen tearing and wierd glitching. Major bugs, MAJOR dissapointment!! I wonder how long it'll be before it gets fixed. Damn, I have the day off today too

I hope Bethesday continues to make DLC, more over big ones that rival Shivering Isles, for Fallout 3 for a longer period of time then they did for Oblivion.
An armor and/or weapons pack would be awesome as well!

I feel bad that some really cool games are not available to the most common machines that players have too! I wonder how big a job it is for the designers to put out a DLC on different units.?. As far as Fallout 3 goes I really like the idea of extending the story line. I have been holding off & not finishing the main quest when I heard that more additions were coming out and it's making me crazy! In the meantime I keep coming across so many things I missed the first few times around.

The worst RROD i find lately is in sony fanboy's brains. Always complaining about Fallout 3 and GTA IV exclusive DLC...

Do they don't have anything better to do? are they that bored they need to come to complain about exclusivities and insult 360 owners?, did KILLZONE 2 bored then so soon?.

Would be smater to have both machines and stop all that retarded 15-years-old fanatical ****

gray13, on March 6th you said
"This is just Microsoft's way of getting people to buy the red ring of death box, make insanely large incentive deals with the game designer so they release overpriced expansions on their inferior machine. There is no incentive to buy the xbox in the store without it. You have to buy everything extra with the xbox only to send it back in 6 months or less."
I disagree. I've had my Xbox 360 since the day the Original 360 came out. I have had no problems whatsoever. I have not experienced the Red Ring of Death and I must tell you that the Red Ring of Death happens mostly on the 360 Elite. Very few people have the money for the Elite and the majority of 360 users just have an original 360. Now, my friend who works at Microsoft has told me that they are working on a way to keep the Elite working proficiently and not braking down or showing the Red Ring of Death. When I visited my brother, he had the Red Ring of Death, but it went away after restarting the Xbox. So tell me how you come up for having to send the console back after 6 months or less. Original 360's do not work as well as Elite's so they last for much, much longer. I have talked to my friend, I have helped him in his work by testing out broken 360's and seeing if the problem can be fixed and very few times have I seen an original having the Red Ring of Death except to find that the owner has beaten the 360 or has dropped it and such. i am at a loss at finding out a way that you come up with this and I need you to help me here. I have come up with every possible thing to find out that it is indeed impossible. So, the sending back of an original Xbox after 6 months or less WITHOUT being beaten to death is impossible.

Playstation fanboys need to go **** their 678 year-old grandmas and shut the **** up.
This is how it works for fans of consoles.
    Playstation(The worst!)=Whine like ****
Wii=Bragging for stupid reasons when their technology sucks ***!
Xbox 360=Wondering why in the **** Playstations and Wiis acts like little idiots.
Playstation, you need to shut the **** up and get the **** out of GameSpot. Go to some British gaming website. The liberals there are quite suitable for you little gay people. When Sony buys some DLC, Xbox won't whine, but when you act like little babies it makes no one want to turn into a ******* fan boy. So move atheists, liberals, and whiners all around, to some British **** site!

Bethesda Softworks really need to release this DLC to the PSN, if they are not going to FULLY support a platform including DLC they shouldn't develop it in the first place.
This has put me off buying another Bethesda Softworks game...

    Fallout 3 = great
    Bethesda Softworks = Poor

I honestly don't understand people who get upset about additional content coming out and not being packaged with the original game. Are you just as pissed about devs patching their products to fix glitches? Fifteen years ago, a game shipped, that was it. Final product, glitches/bugs and all. There was no going back and fixing an error, let alone adding content. Now in the new age of the internet we can get those patches, and more importantly, developers have the opportunity to listen to the market, hear what the critics like/disslike and EXPAND upon that. How is that not the best f****ing thing since Nintendo introduced us to Mario? I applaud DLC because it means I will be playing my games longer, something that's always welcome in my book.

I'm not supporting Fallout DLC, it seems like a cheap cash grab by selling you the ability to level up your character past 20 which they should have allowed in the first place. Thanks for selling me a truncated game jackaxx's! I'll only buy your games discounted or used now.
