Guilty Gear Accent-ed again on PS2, PSP, Wii
Oft-revised Arc System Works fighting franchise set to receive a "definitive installment" this spring with Accent Core Plus.
The Guilty Gear franchise is known as much for its seemingly constant parade of iterations and updates as it is for the frantically technical style of 2D fighting. But with developer Arc System Works looking to expand beyond the series with last year's Battle Fantasia and the upcoming BlazBlue, the studio's days with the franchise may be numbered.
If that's the case, Aksys Games is looking to capitalize on it. The publisher today announced a North American release for what it calls "the definitive installment in the series," Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus. Set for launch this spring, the game will be released for the Wii, PSP, and PlayStation 2.
As for what's new in Accent Core Plus, the roster of playable characters is expanding to 25 with the return of the armored Justice and the dimunitive Kliff, who carries a sword twice his size. Beyond that, the game will feature a new story mode, a retuned survival mode, and three-man team battles.
