After Lost: Via Domus posted underwhelming sales and the previously announced game based on Heroes was canned, one might think Ubisoft would shy away from TV adaptations. That's not the case, according to retail listings on Amazon and GameStop.

The two online retailers have posted preorder listings for Ubisoft-published games based on Grey's Anatomy. Both sites are advertising PC and Wii versions of the game, while GameStop also has a page up for a DS edition. Amazon even has a picture of the game's box cover, complete with the Ubisoft swirl logo and a T-for-Teen rating.

Ubisoft's participation with TV brands extends beyond the aforementioned titles. In the last year, the publisher also released games based on Hell's Kitchen, The Dog Whisperer, The Price is Right, CSI: NY, and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.

    worst idea for a videogame i've ever heard of! and the really sad part is that you know it's going to sell because of how popular the show is... I HATE THIS WORLD!!!

    They should've gonewith House. Instead of trying to work responsibly and maintain relationships, you'd avoid relationships, say mean things to people, act like a jerk, endanger the patients life and still it works out ok.

    I've never seen Grey's Anatomy, but when I saw that it was coming as a game, I decided that I'll give it a try.

    Also, I'm thinking about buying a Wii for the sole purpose of playing Tenchu 4...

    So you have to be a depressed woman in her 40s, also in possession of a Wii, to enjoy this game.

  • Stepeo

    Posted Jan 14, 2009 11:45 am PT

    There are two requirements one has to fullfill before able to enjoy this game;
    you have to be a woman, and you have to like games. So maybe some more women are playing games, i still dont think this game will sell...ever.

    No child under 13 would be interested in this game. A teen 13-17 would consider this a waste of time. Anybody 18+ would be busy in college, work, family, or anything of the sort. Retailers would keep few copies of this game in stock and only die-hard fans of this TV series would buy this game. That too on the PC most likely, too embarassing to keep with other Wii game. The time and effort into creating this game for Ubisoft will come to waste and regret. This game is rated T for Teen so it won't have any mature sexual content or anything of the sort. In conclusion, very little people would buy this game and graphics or content won't compensate for lousy ideas.

    tv adaptations from any company tend to suck, and you cant rate ubisoft just for tv games theyre a damn fine company and they make crazy games, like assassins creed and all of the tom clancy games

    I am really trying to use my imagination, but I am not seeing how Grey's Anatomy can translate into a video game of any sort.

  • PumpkinBoogie

    Posted Dec 29, 2008 2:16 pm PT

    You know, I just don't see how video game companes can still continue to try to tap into the non-existent well of TV and movies series-turned video game concept. It's never been a success (no matter the show/movie) and it never will be. It's as if studios feel as though gamers are gullible or they know that fans of the show that are willing to pay for anything about their favorite show will not realize how cheesy and worthless these things are (only until they sadly purchase it do they realize how lame it is). Either way investing in these profit-milking ideas will not be a big money maker for Ubisoft.

    Ubisoft in the head, If you think this Grey's Anatomy game is going to be good and will make a profit. Grey's Anatony is a popular show and so is Lost. But just because a Television show is popular. That doesn't mean it will make a popular videogame. I like the show "House" But there is No way it would make a good videogame concept. Ubi soon finding your company out of business
