From the get-go, Penny Arcade Adventures has been playing catch-up on the PlayStation 3. However, Hothead Games' webcomic-inspired adventure game series will soon achieve parity across consoles. The developer announced today that Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness - Episode Two will be available through the PlayStation Network this Thursday for $14.99.
Episode Two picks up where the well-received first installment left off, with franchise protagonists Tycho and Gabe further embarking on their Internet-culture-meets-Lovecraftian-horror adventure. Players can import characters created in the first episode or start from scratch, and Hothead has also added multiple difficulty levels to the formula. The episodic developer expects players to need up to 10 hours to complete the game.
As detailed in GameSpot's review of the Xbox 360 version, Episode Two offers a more fleshed-out storyline than the first, though its adventure elements remain lacking. The game also packs a wickedly perverse sense of humor; audiences, be warned.
Along with PAA: Episode Two, EPOS Game Studios' Crash Commando will mobilize on the PlayStation Network this Thursday. The side-scrolling 2D competitive shooter can be had for $9.99. For more on Crash Commando, check out GameSpot's comprehensive preview of the game from last week.
