Rygar is ready to dust off the diskarmor once more. It's been seven years since the shield-spinning Tecmo character made his last appearance, in the PlayStation 2 game Rygar: The Legendary Adventure. But today, the publisher gave notice that its action hero will end his hiatus with the February 3 launch of Rygar: The Battle of Argus for the Wii.

While the Battle of Argus is fundamentally a remake of The Legendary Adventure, Tecmo is including a number of new features as well. In addition to a Gladiator mode developed specifically to make use of the motion-sensing Wii Remote, the game will include new foes and techniques.

Rygar is rated T for Teen and will carry a $39.99 price tag when it launches in February. For more on the source material, check out GameSpot's review of The Legendary Adventure.
