AU Shippin' Out November 17-21: Left 4 Dead
The only good zombie's a dead zombie.
The last few week's releases have been massive in Australia, with several big titles coming out. Things are finally starting to slow down, but that doesn't mean that there aren't any good games out this week down under.
With Resident Evil 5 pushed back to next year and Dead Island nowhere in sight, Valve's Left 4 Dead zombie shooter is the only real outbreak of zombies gamers have seen all year. Telling the story of four survivors of a massive zombie outbreak, L4D is divided up into four movie sets, giving the game a cinematic feel. While the primary focus of the game is on co-op, there's also a competitive mode which pits four human players against four super zombies. Left 4 Dead is out this week on the Xbox 360 and PC.
To coincide with Quantum of Solace's launch on Thursday, Activision has teamed up with Treyarch to bring Bond's latest flick into the lounge room of gamers. Based on the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare engine, QOS follows Bond, who is set on avenging the murder of Vesper Lynd, Bond's love interest in the previous film. Interestingly, the game also features a flashback system, which explains Casino Royale's story for those who are playing the game but missed the original film. Quantum of Solace is due out on the PS3, 360, Nintendo DS, Wii, PS2, and PC on the 19th.
