SFIV hits Japanese consoles in February

Home roster to include additional playable characters Seth, Sakura, Akuma, Gouken, Fei Long, and Dan; PC release window still TBA.

While Capcom fighting fans will get a chance to go hands-on with the Turbo HD Remix edition of Super Street Fighter II later this month, that's just a warm-up for next year's main event: the home version release of Street Fighter IV. The publisher today gave a newly narrowed release window for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game, in Japan at least. (The PC version's launch window is still to be announced.)

As reported by Dengeki, Capcom used its Grand Battle Festival at the Shinagawa Intercity Hall to reveal that Street Fighter IV would be available for Japanese consoles in February. More than a straight arcade port, the home version of the game will include a boosted roster of playable characters, including Sakura, Akuma, Gouken, Seth, and the return of vintage fighters Fei Long and Dan.

Capcom also showed off Studio 4C's long-form Street Fighter IV-related anime and showcased the project's cast of voice actors. Directed by Kouji Morimoto, whose animated short "Beyond" was included in The Animatrix, the Street Fighter IV anime will be given away as a preorder bonus for the game.

Looks interesting but this genre is pretty dead.I used to play this type of games all the time but they've lost their appeal...

I believe they already said SFIV would release with the new movie in North America. Which is currently schedules for February 20th (but I expect it to be pushed back). I can't wait for this game, it looks like SF2 in 3D. If they got the controls right, this is gonna be the best game of 2009.

I believe capcom has made up for all those years of abandoning the street fighter series by making this the best yet. This is big. ^-^

I remember counting the days when SFII came to the SNES. I preordered it 4 months ahead, and bruised my fingers when it arrived for weeks. Unfortunately, SFIV is not having the same effect.

Good i wuz hoping that Fei Long wuz gonna b in this game. & u get 2 play with Ryu & Ken's master Gouken! Yea this game looks like it might b a good fighter. If the rumor of Gen & Cammy is true then it just makes this game even more a must have.
