Split-second decisions are the name of the game in Electronic Arts' upcoming first-person action adventure Mirror's Edge. Be that as it may, the publisher has given gamers ample time to ponder whether they'll be playing the game's demo, revealing its existence in September.

Today, EA provided an exact date for when gamers can take a preliminary spin with its nimble heroine, saying the free trial will be available on the PlayStation Network October 30, with the Xbox Live edition following a day later. The full game is expected to be released for both platforms on November 11.

As previously reported, the demo includes the game's prologue, as well as a tutorial mission and a small portion of the single-player story mode. Those who preorder the game will also be able to try out the time trial mode, which GameSpot went hands-on with earlier this month.

ok so the only reason I'm posting my comment now is becouse I've been excessively overplaying this awsome demo. and u know what that means. GET IT!!

    now, to the guy below me;
who the heck cares about your notice?? there is nothing biased about stating dates... YOU however r the one that seems biased, offending like a child, just becouse someone mentioned
    "360" followed by "later".
dam* in that case I can only imagine ur reaction if they had mentioned
    "PS3" followed by "before"...

notice how they mention the ps3 demo is realeased one day before the xbl version, thats pathetic, and bias, who cares.

I played the demo, I thought that this could be a good game. It;s not my type of game, though I might find the interest in the future to purchase it and beat it.

Puscifer_No1 makes a point, and I agree with it.

What I find even more distressing is that people are so eager to say a game is great or deserves it's high marks before they've even played it.

I didn't really like it tbh.

I've noticed as well a lot of GS members have dogged anyone with an opinion on this game that is leaning towards negative. Where do you people decide whether someone's opinion is worth condemning? Negative Opinion = Negative Ratings, where's the logic? Just cause someone didn't like the game/demo everyone that does, seems to put that person down plus it doesn't really warrant negative ratings

I was looking forward to this but the demo left me wholly unimpressed. The running was great but the controls were unbearably frustrating. Faith blatantly refused to acknowledge my L1 command on more than one occasion, and I've yet to complete the demo because the silly woman refuses to run up that plank. Which, I might add only goes red when you're near enough to it to get shot at and render running up it impossible. Unless the control issues are fixed I wont be bothering with this.

I've beaten the demo or watched friends of mine beat the demo well over 10 times. i pre-ordered it the first day the demo was out. And I've practiced my running in time trials.

been playing the demo like crazy, gonna play again right now. very original idea, i'll definitely be picking this up. i'm gonna try to go through the game without using reaction time. not sure why people don't like the game. and yeah i'm hoping no kids attempt parkour, i did parkour for a few years till i blew out my acl, very dangerous sport. always been wondering when someone was gonna make a game outta it.

damn them for delaying the PC version b/c they think it will deter piracy. it's like they are spitting in my face because I built a powerful gaming computer instead of buying a console. my choice to game on a pc MUST mean I'm a pirate (sarcasm). It really pisses me off that i'll have to wait 2 months to play the same game that console gamers will have just because the possibility of piracy. Xbox 360 users can mod their console to pirate the 360 games too (the 360 version of Fallout 3 was leaked before release). They aren't delaying THAT platform, so they shouldn't delay the PC version either.

I was looking forward to this game. I tried the demo and did not like it. On the jumps you have to get close to the edge but you can't even see your feet! The heroine is cool looking but you never see her. Too bad, would have been cool with a Third person point of view.

I've been waiting for ME for a long time, and the demo really peaked my interest. The time trial mode makes you look at everything completely differently, and it's amazing how much 1 inch will help you make or fail a jump.

The game isn't about combat. What they give you are options to get you to where you need to go as fast as possible. I'm guessing that once the game comes out, the fastet routes won't involve killing anyone at all.

Interesting demo, at times it works very well, at others you seem to be playing guess-where-we-want-you-to-jump-next. Not impressed by the close combat options, since for all the nice animations there doesn't appear to be any way to defend, you just hit/disarm the guy before he can shoot you.

Love Innovation, I'm waiting in anticipation for this one. The last game that got my attention like this was Assassin's Creed. Yet another step forward in the Genre

It's not often nowadays that we see real innovation in the gaming world. I've played the demo and I have to say, it's very different. (360 version if you were wondering). No traditional HUD. Controls are definately not what you expect. The concept is sound, the gameplay is fun, though can be frustrating at times (I fell to my death at the same spot trying to grab onto a flipping pipe about 15 times on my first run through but that's probably my terrible gaming skills at work there). It looks like it's going to be a pretty good game but we'll see. I can't help but be leery at new concepts for gaming but I'm certainly not against new things. I very much look forward to this release though I can't say for sure whether I will buy it or not. Definately going to GameFly it first.

Demo is like maybe 10 min tutorial and another 5 for the story and people who preordered it get a time trial mode which is kinda of fun too adds an extra 5 min (or less if your trying to beat records).

The demo is hot! Fast paced, action packed and a real thrill! The only downfall is the horizontal syncro (lags) but I guess it won't be in the final version (At leat I hope), I could buy this game!

@j_koski No i am not, i have played this level on a show in holland on a pc, and the controlls on a keyboard and mouse irritate me, for some moves the keyboard is very tricky with this game. what you see in this demo is just a small portion of the moves you can do. but then again i like my games on a console. so for a pc veteran it's maybe easy to play.

The demo was alright but it feels a little shallow to be a full game. I mean running is cool and all but after running becomes routine there's not much else in the game

This beats Metroid Prime for first person platforming. I'm totally engaged. There's just enough story to get you thinking. I'm so excited that I went and pre-ordered it. I wasn't planning on buying any new retail games this holiday.
The graphical touches are fantastic, you really feel nervous when you fall.
I doubt I could be more hooked. Seriously play this demo at the very least.

    Edit:
Music is great and the voice acting so far is good with a great cutscene art style. Finally AND most importantly: While you do have "runner's eye" which highlights important objects and lends a unique art style to the game the levels look completely natural. Very little looks like it was put there just to make a path for you to run.

Demo was somewhat short, but interesting. The game is quite unique and unlike anything I've seen before, so I'm really interested in this. Controls seemed a bit weird to me at first, but quickly caught on. I may get this game, but probably not at release. It seems a bit too shallow for me right now - I'm not too sure how much replay value there is in the game just yet, and how long the game will last in a playthrough.

It is a very good looking game. The demo was very cool. I think all the voices fit the game (there are no particular voice actors that sounds bad) however I would hope to hear more of a soothing cooler tone with the main characters since obviously jumping from 60-story buildings is all in a day's work. Overall though it's one of those games that will even look better if sequels are made on newer console/pc hardware. Kudos goes to the music direction. I will be watching this game until it's released!

I played it and i was not impressed at all. just because you put cool things in a game doesnt make it cool. It like "oh oh do this over here! or jump over this highlighted fence!" they lay the obstacle out for you i wanna know when i do cool things i did it myself it wasnt layed out for me. ill rent it for two days and thats it.

Demo is cool. I think its very innovative too! and they've done well to capture the speed an movement. BUT i found it a little boring. maybe it cos the demo is short, and 60% tutorial. Im still gonna wait for a review before buying this. i think it'll get around 75 - 80 % Still not completly convinced. ...

I really like the demo...it is like a 1st person Prince of Persia. However a big part of me really likes 3rd person Prince of Persia a bit better for the awareness. Something about 1st person platforming (like not seeing your feet and your target at the same time) just doesn't feel as tight.
