Foo Fighters, Skynyrd front On Tour Decades

Activision packs 28 master tracks into latest portable Guitar Hero, due for the DS on November 16.

Not long after Activision released Guitar Hero: On Tour for the Nintendo DS in June, the publisher was touting the game as its best-selling entry on Nintendo's portable in corporate history. Not six months later, the publisher is already playing an encore with On Tour Decades, which is slated to arrive for the DS on November 16.

Today, Activision took the wraps off of On Tour Decades' setlist. In all, the list includes 28 master tracks, two more than the first installment in the franchise. Notable performers in this edition include rhythm-game veterans such as the Foo Fighters, Bon Jovi, Boston, and Weezer. As previously noted by Nintendo, gamers will be able to share songs between the two games as well as play along together by way of the DS' Wi-Fi capabilities.

As with the original On Tour, Decades will make use of the Guitar Grip peripheral, which slots into the soon-to-be-extinct Game Boy Advance slot on the DS. In addition to holding down the appropriate button on the grip, gamers will strum along to the tunes with a stylus-inspired guitar pick.

Check out GameSpot's previous coverage of On Tour Decades, as well as the review of the first game, for what to expect from Activision's latest rhythm-game offering.

Guitar Hero: On Tour Decades' full song lineup is listed below.

Alien Ant Farm - "Smooth Criminal"

Where is the PSP version of Guitar Hero? It would easily screw into the top usb plug then turn sideways and use the x button for strum. The sound and graphics would be better and it's not as wide as a DS, so it would be more comfortable to hold. Come on Activision!!!

Meh, rhythm games on handhelds kinda suck, I think atleast. Rock Band 2 and World Tour are so much better investments. Look at how tiny and sucky (I think it's sucky) is the track list.

Some of these songs are on World Tour, wtf?
Besides, considering the lukewarm reception of the first hand held iteration, haven't they learned not to include another installment?

Get ready for more hand cramps everybody whom is a sucker to buy it.

I don't have a problem with most of these songs, but seriously, why Fallout Boy!?!?!?! Does the world REALLY need to hear more of THAT????

Dude...where's the metal? And why can't they put more than 28 songs in these games?!!?!?

@edpeterson: Sweet Home Alabama should be the encore to just about any multi-band concert. Get everyone on stage and sing along, it's perfect.

This set looks like a watered-down version of World Tour, with We Are The Champions and some DLC from previous Guitar Heros. And it's the DS game, which admittedly kinda stinks. I'm gonna skip this one...just like WT.

HOLY ****! On the ****ing DS? That will be hard lol.

Queen - "We Are the Champions"

    Why wasn't that in WT?

    Posted Oct 29, 2008 5:04 pm PT

wow, that's a pretty good list (the only really crappy song I see is Sweet Home Alabama) I really like Alien Ant Farm's Smooth Criminal song Hopefully they'll have some more unlockable songs then the last one, and I'm glad they finally have Wi-Fi

  • Wet_Sand

Why weren't these songs in WT? I would kill to play Can't Stop or I Believe in a Thing Called Love.

    What the hell.

Why are so many great tracks on a ds game.

Smooth Criminal,Tarantula, I believe in a thing called love should all be on other iterations.

Plus there are some godly tracks like The one I love and We are the Champions that should be on a console.

But mostly can't stop... one of the best chili pepper songs making it one of the best songs ever. Why couldnt this setlist be cut and paste into a game with better gameplay

thats just weird...not only alot of these songs r on GHWT but theres 3 more songs than the last DS guitar hero game (which sucked)...i wont b pickin this up especially when i get GHWT that has some of these songs and 60+ more than this...not too bad of a setlist tho

    *Gasp*
"Can't Stop" is in this game?? That's one of the best songs EVER!!!

If they have the songs on here that's means they have some of the rights to them, so maybe they will also be allowed to put some of these songs in World Tour I'm hoping.

I'm getting a little tired of this overlapping song business.

16 songs on GH:WT are on Rock Band 2 (2 or 3 of which are downloads)

and 11 of these song are in other games as well.

I wanna play something else please.
