Today, CDV Software Entertainment signed a multiyear game distribution agreement with Infogrames' now fully owned subsidiary Atari for console, handheld, and multiplatform titles.

How does that translate to digestible news for gamers? As part of today's agreement, the publisher revealed that the first game to benefit from this deal will be Ascaron Entertainment's Sacred 2: Fallen Angel, which has been dated on the PC for November 11. The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 editions of the game are expected to follow on February 17.

Ascaron's Sacred 2 is an epic-scale fantasy role-playing game in which players undertake the path of a soldier of light or dark, exploring the lands of Ancaria 2,000 years before the events of the 2004 original. The German developer promises more than 22 square miles of in-game terrain that can be explored, as well as more than 200 dungeons and 650 quests.

The game also features local split-screen and online cooperative play. According to the developer, players' characters will be persistent between both single-player and multiplayer modes, and experience gained in one will seamlessly transfer to the other.
