Aussie game charts: September 1-7

Not even Spore can topple Wii Fit.

Nintendo's success with casual gamers in recent years cannot be ignored. Because of this, it should come as no surprise to seasoned chart watchers that Wii Fit topped the overall Australian game chart, according to data trackers GfK Australia.

Not even the release of the highly anticipated Spore could slow down Wii Fit. Will Wright's new game spent less than a full week on store shelves and debuted in the charts at number two for the week of September 1-7. The Wii Play bundle, which comes with a Wiimote, fell down one spot into third, while Mario Kart Wii climbed up into the fourth position. Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain? can be found in the very middle of the chart in fifth spot. Super Smash Bros. Brawl moved up a couple of places into number six. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games seem to be making a post-Olympics comeback, moving up into the seventh spot. EA's The Sims 2: Apartment Life continues to sell strongly on the PC, moving enough copies to make it into eighth place.

In other charts news, despite dropping out of the top 10 overall games, Too Human remains the best-selling game on Xbox 360 for the second week in a row.

well if you rely on reviews on amazon that just shows you have a weak point. pretty much 90% of game reviews on amazon are total rubbish. half of them go up before the games even out.

yep, because there's fifty 5-star reviews on amazon, and over two-thousand 1-star reviews. I don't see why gamespot ISNT reporting that?

spore blows, sorry you wasted your money, but it sucks

    don't hate on spore

No wonder spore ISN'T on top, look up it's reviews on amazon, 1 STAR. The gameplay sucks, the DRM sucks, spore sucks. What a disappointment.

    (don't buy spore)

Wii has gotten the most titles in the top 10 for the past several months now This time we rank #1 with 6 titles in addition to 2 DS games. The sales clearly show it, Nintendo is dominating sales in both systems AND games.

just my opinion. my mate and i rented the mario and sonic game and i didn't enjoy it. i did play it 4 an hour or so before i got sick of it. but ur opinion is probably more valid than mine, considering ur into nintendo an have probably played the game in depth.

Mario and Sonic is a great game but i doubt you have played it much, if at all.

stupid comment thing won't work. i always cringe when i read these articles. those ridiculous olympics games actually sell, and that mario and sonic gimmick is making a comeback. sad.

Man Super Smash Bros. Brawl is number 6 on the top 10 list?! Now that's what I call staying power.

Its great to see Spore beat out the Sims games but it probably won't last long with the Sims never disapeearing.
