Strong Bad drops to July

First episode in Telltale's episodic adventure series based on Homestar Runner antagonist due for simultaneous release on WiiWare and PC next month.

As Strong Bad would probably tell anyone who e-mails him, the episodic adventure game bearing his name will come out once the funtivities can produce laughs enough to lacerate vital internal organs, or something. Be that as it may, Telltale Games' revealed during this week's edition of On the Spot that the first episode in Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People has been bumped to July, from June, on the Wii and PC.

Not entirely the bearer of bad news, however, Telltale producer Brett Tosti also revealed that the WiiWare and PC editions of the game will appear on both platforms simultaneously. Tosti noted that the game has been submitted to Nintendo for approval, and the team is currently adding the final polish to the title.

Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People will be the first of a five-part series, and similar to Telltale's Sam and Max episodic games, new installments are expected to be released on a monthly basis. Players will assume the role of the titular maybe-hero, solving puzzles and interacting with other denizens from the Homestar Runner universe.

For more on what to expect from Telltale's first Strong Bad episode, check out GameSpot's On the Spot webcast or visit Telltale's developer blog.

Ever since I first saw Homestar and Strong Bad (which was pretty much before I even understood half the jokes) I have longed for more and more Strong Bad. And what a more perfect way than mixing it with the wii. I only hope this game lives up to my expectations...or even half my expectations.

Hahaha, Strong Bad is hilarious! I hope this game successfully captures the spirit of the website; if so, it would definitely be worth checking out.

LOL.... Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People. LOL...Games like this always make me cringe a little...I'm sure this game will be hilarious, but don't be surprised if it lacks in gameplay mechanics and overall incentive to play. -other than the incentive to see Stong Bad be himself.

I can't wait to see how this game plays. I haven't been to the website in a while so should be good. I don't mind the delay as long as the game is good.

BigC43 the reason why it isn't coming to Xbox is because the Xbox doesn't have a mouse (or a pointing device like the Wii). It works like a classic Adventure game aka click an area and Strong Bad will go there. If they made it for Xbox they'd have to reprogram it so that Strong Bad would respond to analog control. Hope you understand, just buy it on PC.

Who said you have to buy a Wii? It's for PC as well. You know... that machine that you're typing on! The entire homstarrunner.com website is free without any signing up for anything, and they have a trailer of the game there as well.

Yeah, anyone who owns a Wii or has ever played one becomes addicted to the awsome games it has, few as they are.

"Maybe because the 360 sucks? Buy a Wii, it's the only real gaming console out there right now!"

Hmm, let's look at that claim shall we? First, look at all of the Wii games that are utter crap compared to the 360 ones. There is a pretty big difference. Next, look at the AAA titles on each one. Again, 360 has a good size edge because only Nintendo can make good games for the Wii. Third, how is the Wii's online community? Nonexistant. I think I made my point.

Oh, and just to clarify, I actually own a Wii, and it sits on a shelf, collecting dust while my "real" game systems are being played. I rest my case.

Back on topic, this game should be on XBLA.

I love this website, thanks to G4 for introducing me to this site. Love the nostaliga humor and also a refreshing change from a lot of the vulgar stuff out there trying to copy South Park and Family Guy (Two shows I do enjoy as well).
