Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix debuts on the PSN for a pretty penny.
Seven months after its release in North America, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix is making its appearance on the PlayStation Network Store this week. Despite not being a direct sequel to anything, it's heavily inspired by the Street Fighter series and includes some of the classic fighter's characters. As the name suggests, it's a puzzle game in which players have to match coloured bricks, which then lets them attack and eliminate the opposition. In comparison to other PSN games, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix costs significantly more than the usual $8-$12, coming in at A$15.95.
The other game to be rereleased on the PSN this week is the original Rayman for the PlayStation. In this game you'll get the chance to battle the evil Mister Dark and save the Great Protoon all over again. Rayman will set you back A$8.45.
Nintendo's Virtual Console service has seen a significant boost to its ranks this week, with the addition of 10 games. The Nintendo 64's puzzle-themed Pokemon game, Pokemon Puzzle League, is here, as well as two NeoGeo games: Samurai Shodown and Burning Fight. To top it off, in celebration of Japan's Hanabi Festival (firework festivals), the following games (which up until now haven't seen the light of day in Australia) have also been added to the Virtual Console store: Gley Lancer, Puyo Puyo 2, TurboGrafx Break In, Cho Aniki, Star Parodier, Digital Champ Battle Boxing, and Gradius II Gofer No Yobu.
Finally, the classic Atari game Warlords is now available on Xbox Live Arcade for 800 Microsoft Points. For those of us who weren't around when it first came out, Warlords sees you trying to take out the kings from three opposing castles while protecting your own king from attack. The game can be played by up to four players either on the consoles or via Xbox Live, and it includes Xbox Live Vision Camera support.
