RBI Baseball swings for Xbox 360 fences
ESRB rates a new slugger for Microsoft's console from upstart developer Six Degrees Games.
The 2008 baseball season is already in full swing, but a number of games based on the American pastime are still on deck. The 2009 editions of Backyard Baseball are set for next month, Mario Super Sluggers for the Wii should arrive later this year, and Konami and Take-Two's joint effort MLB Power Pros 2008 is set to arrive on multiple platforms this summer.
Apparently, one more slugger will be added to the lineup, as the Entertainment Software Rating Board has issued an E for Everyone to RBI Baseball for the Xbox 360. The game is being published by startup Six Degrees Games, a Marina Del Ray, California-based outfit focused on "vibrant, mass-market gaming applications for the Internet," suggesting that RBI would be digitally distributed as an Xbox Live Arcade game rather than a retail product.
It's unclear if Six Degrees' RBI title is related to Atari and Tengen's R.B.I. Baseball franchise, which spawned in the arcade and moved to consoles in the late '80s through the mid-'90s. Six Degrees had not returned GameSpot's inquiry as of press time.
