This news is so exciting, I'm not sure how to control myself...but, after slightly wetting my pants, I think I've calmed down enough to say, "F&*K YEAH!!!!"

I've been a die-hard F1 fan since 98, and played every game since (cept the newest PS3 game which was rubbish!) Still, F1 2002 for PC (with mods) and Grand Prix Legends are my two favorite F1 games!

man, if driving a F1 car is like driving in GRID, this game from codemasters will suck... and i´ve been waiting so long for the next F1 game

this is great news. I actually bought a PS3 for F1 games but I have high hopes for what codemasters can do

Codemasters as some experience with open wheel racing when they released IndyCar Series and IndyCar Series 2005.

Those games didn't exactly get great reviews, but they now have a new racing engine and have more that they can do with F1 than what they could do with Indy. I'm sure it will be a decent game. Its one that I will look forward to playing since I haven't got to play an F1 game on Xbox since F1 2001.

Sweet, hopefully they will have a "personalised" career mode like they have with GRID, in which the radio guy will call you by your name etc (long as its in the list) and hopefully they wont make it arcady like GRID

can't wait to see what codemasters will do with the F1 licence, excited cant wait to hear more

No doubt it's 'bout time somebody other than Sony made F-1 racing games. 2 me, F-1 is king of all motor racing. I'm glad EA didn't get it, now let's see what Codemasters can do with it. By '09, they should be able to tweak their Grid engine and put out a racing game that looks great, but isn't overly swayed to simulation. They gotts to find a balance and make F-1 racing fun. 4 now, bring on GRID !!!

This is GREAT news. I was scared to death that EA would get it and destory yet another sports genre.

The last great F1 game I played before F1 CE on the PS3 was the Geoff Crammond (think thats his name) and his PC sims. They where cool. Before GTA IV thats the best weather simulation I had ever seen.

This is Fantastic news , I have always held codemasters in very high relm when it comes to racing , they NEVER disappointed me , F1 with codemasters is gonna be awesome .

YES, YES, YES.... It's about time. This is the best news ever. I've got the PS3 version and I got the PSP version on the way. Of course the PSP version was only released in Europe. So lucky me has family over there that got this for me and are mailing it my way. That should keep me busy until this comes out in 09.

It will be fun to see how this will be. Have bought all F1 games on the ps(1,2 and 3) so this will be some major change(i think?)

Anyway, Sony did good. Now let's see if Codemaster gonna crank it up.

Thank GOD! Iv been waiting for a F1 game to hit the 360 since launch. As an American who loves Formula One, i try to get my hands on anything F1 related. This is GREAT news!

We all know they are going to do a good job. But what will they call it?

Codies are the best at rally games.period lets hope they can do this with Formula one not saying the sony ones werent bad but they were good but with their flaws lets hope codies picks up on these and makes them better.

I like racing games that codemaster makes...at least Toca and Colin series as some other old school stuff. I don't care what developer you are the fact that only one developer has a licance to a brand is not good. Look and NFL for example you only have one choice of licanced Football game. I worry that it be a F1 game using the same engine as every other Codemasters racing game. In other words you would be playing GRID but with F1 racers and they will slap a $60 tag on it.

WOW. This is totally out of left field news that makes me VERY happy. I ALWAYS wanted to play F1 on the 360.. I mean.. especially after seeing the PS3 version.. I guess I'm jumping the gun a bit, but.. I ... want some F1 action. I haven't played an F1 game since a PS2 version of which i don't remember the year of. Can't wait!

F1 is awesome because I hate passing and I love finishing EXACTLY where I qualify! If Codemasters can bring that experience to my 360, well hoo boy!... I'm in!

grid is impressive-very good game, if not a hard learning curve coming from GT5. that rewind feature is excellent and the graphics and effects (like smoke) are the best i have ever seen

Dirt and Grid are not franchises, Colin Mcrae and ToCA are the franchises, dumb ass gamespot.

I was still hoping Sony would go for it again for studio liverpool since they did a fantastic job with F1: CE. I hope codemasters can at least deliver something equal to it. =)

Can't wait to drive around courses in my center pivot F1 racer. DiRT and GRID being mildly entertaining and pretty looking don't excuse them from having incredibly loose center pivoting steering. F1 is about about precision and control and, given their latest efforts, that just doesn't seem like something that Codemasters is capable of creating. Granted I have only played the demo of GRID, but right now it is DiRT dressed up in street racing clothes.

That was probably from the same guys who wrote the book that said Hamilton won the 2007 Drivers Championship at the Japanese Grand Prix, even though the book was published before the running of the Italian Grand Prix.

I coulda sworn I read about EA having the license and Lewis Hamilton being on the cover

The only thing that sucks is we have to wait until next year for the game. But at least it won't be tied to one platform, and everyone can get a little F1 love!

Geoff Crammond needs some insight into this franchise.

Glad FOM realised that there is more money when it they let the game go multi-platform. More money for Bernie, but atleast non-playstation gamers will get an F1 game. Hope Codemasters can make a good game.

tho i respect codemasters for dirt/grid and past games ..i hope they dont go down the arcady route too much ...what i am excited about is that it will not be limited to only the ps3 ..and will be available on pc etc .. but good to know theres a f1 game coming in the near future

That's great news. I really enjoyed Dirt, and the GRID demo is good. Also Codemasters have recently acquired Sega Racing Studio, so they definitely have people devoted to racing games working on it.

Maybe it will also allow them to add proper F1 cars into some of their other racing games.
