Hot Shots Golf returns to PSP June 3

Sony confirms North American release for Open Tee 2; latest installment in long-running links franchise adds portable online play.

Clap Hanz' Hot Shots Golf series has always been touted as an easy-to-learn but difficult-to-master take on the sport. Given the three-year span that has passed since Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee brought the series to the PlayStation Portable, gamers on the go have had ample time to achieve mastery. Now their skills will be put to the test in new challenges, as Sony confirmed for GameSpot that its PSP follow-up, Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee 2, will arrive in North American retailers on June 3.

Along with the expected additions like new courses and golfers, Open Tee 2 adds full-fledged online play to the series. Players will also have the opportunity to customize their duffers with hundreds of different articles of clothing and equipment that can affect the way they perform in addition to the way they look.

Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee 2 is being developed by Clap Hanz in conjunction with Sony's Santa Monica studio. For more on the series, check out GameSpot's review of the original Open Tee.

I re-bought the original Open Tee a few months ago and I've yet to complete or master it; now I have more of a reason to play it more, so I can get better for this one! June's turning a pretty good month for handheld games.

Nice! HSG are great golf games that are challenging and FUN TO PLAY, without the pretentiousness of the PGA licence, and stupid ads of EA golf games! I can't wait for this one!
