The Force to be Unleashed in September
LucasArts' latest chapter in the Star Wars saga coming to US September 16, Europe September 19.
First it was coming in November 2007, then it was pushed back to the second quarter of 2008, but now it looks like the highly anticipated new chapter in the Star Wars game library will finally be gracing store shelves this September.
In an almost simultaneous worldwide launch, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will be coming to North America on September 16, Southeast Asia and Australia on September 17, and Europe on September 19.
In The Force Unleashed, gamers will play Darth Vader's secret apprentice. The game is set between the ending of the movie Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and the beginning of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. The secret apprentice is tasked by Vader to rid the world of the scourge of the Jedi, and "promises to unveil new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy."
LucasArts describes the game as "one of the most ambitious projects" it has ever launched.
In the US during April, Spike TV will be promoting The Force Unleashed by showing the full series of Star Wars movies, interspersed with trailers, gameplay footage, and/or new announcements about the game.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is coming to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Wii, DS, and PlayStation Portable.
