Deadline set for Faith and a .45
Studio behind Total Overdose, Chili Con Carnage takes aim at a Bonnie-and-Clyde-style story for consoles.
Having thoroughly shot up Mexico in the over-the-top action games Total Overdose and Chili Con Carnage, Deadline Games is making a run for the border. For Faith and a .45, its debut offering on the latest generation of consoles, the Denmark-based developer is changing the setting to the US, circa 1930 and the Great Depression.
Taking clear inspiration from the real-life exploits of notorious bank robbers Bonnie and Clyde, Faith and a .45 follows Luke and Ruby, a couple of outlaws in love who are criss-crossing the country with guns at the ready. Looking to stop Luke and Ruby's spree will be a nefarious oilman and the oppressive forces at his command. Deadline is emphasizing the game's cinematic aspects, focusing on characters and referring to the game as a "gritty, emotional shooter."
As for the game behind the story, Deadline said only that it would feature cooperative multiplayer gameplay. Faith and a .45 doesn't have a publisher lined up as of yet, but the developer is inviting specific companies to view the game at next month's Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.
