Hell's Kitchen getting game reduction

Ludia to fry, sauté, julienne Fox's abuse-driven cooking reality show for multiple gaming platforms.

Oh, to be one of those poor saps on the wrong end of one of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay's fiery tirades! Don't fret, soon anyone with some extra cash to drop can be one of those helpless culinary novices getting a verbal beatdown from the famous chef...in their own living rooms.

Montreal-based gamemaker Ludia today announced that it has signed a deal with television production company Granada America and is taking Fox's reality show Hell's Kitchen interactive. The video game will be available next year on "all major platforms including PC, console and mobile." Ludia is targeting the premiere of the fourth season of Hell's Kitchen for the game's debut.

Ramsay will be lending his voice and likeness to the game, which should give gamers a good target to throw their controller at when he tells them their soufflé tastes like cow excrement. The game will also have some of Ramsay's favorite recipes, which can be printed out (presumably only in the PC version).

Hell's Kitchen is a reality show which pits up-and-coming chefs against one another in a cooking competition. Presiding over the show is Ramsay, a former soccer phenom and hotheaded, expletive-spewing maniac who just happens to be one of the UK's most popular men in the kitchen. Ramsay has leveraged his fame into other shows, including the new Kitchen Nightmares.

Hells Kitchen is a great British tv show. Don't think it'll make a good game though. What's next? Super Nanny: The Game!

I'll probably get this game just for the lulz. Seriously? a Ramsey cooking simulator? The strange thing is I can see it having some potential, especially on the PC, but lets see how it turns out.

I'm not sure about this guys. I mean, I've seen Cooking Mama, and played it (yes I am a boy) and it's a decent cooking game. Also, if Ludia Inc. are going to make the TV show into a game, then wouldn't they include like the teams, blue V red, and maybe a possible character design?
Other companies have done the same thing, think of Colin McRae games, and Tiger Woods games. Those have been good, so hopefully this will be good too.

How to prepare "the dog's bollocks" Add 1 generous portion of has-been foul mouthed ex footballer turned abrasive lout of a chef. Add equal portions of low end game company and poor game concept. mix well and cook in rubbish bin for six months. let stand on store shelves for a year and then recycle.

A few comments, 1/ whats the age rating on this going to be, 15+, although cant be as discusting as what was seen in the recent Hells Kitchen in Britain, so many animals killed

2/ Why, just why does this need to be turned into a game

3 /Ramsay, a former soccer phenom, thats complete BS Ramsay had huge potential until he had a horrible injury, he never even made a first team start for Ranger

I do like Ramsay but i wonder if even he is happy bout this game being made

A Wii version would be great -

My ideal version of a Hells Kitchen game would be for you to start out with some very basic skills (chopping, frying, stirring etc) with the wii remote.
You have to use the wii remote correctly and very fine movements are your skills (like real chefs have), like finely chopped things etc. Or using the A and B button so squeeze out mash in a pretty pattern onto a pie or something.

You can also create your own recipes, or download some from the wii internet connection. Or send good ones to your friends, or post successful recipes onto the message board to try out yourselves.
But practice them virtually. You could learn basic techniques, see how its done, try them out virtually - and because they are based on real-life recipes and ingredients and methods - it would be cool to have the knowledge to try them out in real life.

Anyways - if you have a bad technique, or just a bad recipe, or were not concentrating on the multiple jobs at hand (burning something whilst doing something else etc)... then you fail to make the ratings as you could of, or get kicked out of the "show" altogether!
Sounds could come from the wii remote to let you know how things are getting on etc whilst cooking, and if you don't manage to do well in one evening - you have to clean up the kitchen at the end, using the wii remote to scub things down, mop, dry up, carry things etc.
I reckon something like this would be fantastic, cooking is one of things which nobody really has a good go at because the results can be terrible. But if you learned excellent techniques by practising them on a game, it could benefit you as a gamer - but also it would help you be more knowledgable about cooking, like how long to fry a perfect egg, or cooking several things at once and knowing how long each one should take to cook, etc.

A wii version with such depth would be amazing to play, and because its based on real things - the output of knowledge could be very awesome too.

.... However, developers these days are very lazy. And it will probably be like dance-dance revolution where you have to sway the remote to the beat, or press A when you hear a "bing" sound..
You know, a total lack of ideas an imagination.

Do you think this'll be modeled on Cooking Mama? Except you get bawled at loads, when you mess it up, as you inevitably will because it gets really tough? If you get too bad, he probably yells "SHUT IT DOWN!" or "get out!" then the screen fades to black, and you hear him kicking something in anger, lol!

Definitely watching this, because it could be a good laugh! Lord_Tigger's comparison to Diner Dash also could hold true, though because the feedback of the diners is a big part of the thing.
