Doodle Hex scribbles onto DS
Magically themed strategy game from Tragnarion Studios noted for Nintendo's portable in early 2008.
Last month, Tragnarion Studios unveiled its first game, The Scourge Project. Powered by Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3, the ambitious, story-driven first-person shooter aims to emphasize team-based gameplay, and will be available on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC sometime in 2008.
While The Scourge Project was the developer's first game to be announced, it might not be the first game on the market from Tragnarion. Today, the Palma de Mallorca, Spain-based studio announced it will be shipping Doodle Hex exclusively for the Nintendo DS in early 2008.
According to today's announcement, Doodle Hex requires players to exercise "speed of thought, tactical choices, and accurate drawing" to succeed. Players will compete in a series of duels by drawing magical runes on the DS's touch screen. The game features more than 200 different runes, with powers ranging from damage spells to counterattacks to polymorphisms. Players can square off in single-player and multiplayer modes that occur in real time, and also trade found runes using the DS's Wi-Fi capabilities.
