Bret Michaels to rock Guitar Hero III

The Poison frontman is the second star to be announced for the latest version of the popular rhythm-based game series.

Hardcore guitarist Slash from Guns N' Roses was recently unveiled as appearing as a boss in the upcoming Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. Now, Poison's frontman Bret Michaels has also been confirmed as having a part in the game.

The rocker has been motion-captured with full body, facial, and clothing scans. Two of Michaels' songs will feature on the Guitar Hero III track list, a remastering of the Poison track "Talk Dirty To Me," and a master track from the Bret Michaels Band called "Go That Far."

Michaels is the lead vocalist for the glam metal band Poison, whose hits include "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" and "Nothin' But a Good Time." He is also the star of reality TV show Rock of Love with Bret Michaels on VH1, in which the rock star has to select a lady friend from a group of 25 competitors.

Previously announced Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock original songs include the Smashing Pumpkins' "Cherub Rock," the Rolling Stones' "Paint It Black," and Muse's "Knights of Cydonia."

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock will be coming to the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii, and Xbox 360 in October.

    a) he's not a boss.

    b) anyone who thinks he should be is putting him in the same category as slash or tom morello.

    c) Talk Dirty To Me FTW!

GrimGravy, glam metal is better than Christian metal (which is what Megadeth is going to be from now on). I have no problem with Christianity, but I don't want to hear preach metal.

@random_guy561 yes crazy train would rock and yes zakk wylde would be a great guitarist but how about Dave mustaine the guy who sings and plays guitar in Megadeth or maybe alice cooper or if they put a jimmy buffet song in they could put him in or maybe sting for if they use the police
any of those would be great and yes ozzy would be a good singer
if they do any sabbath song they gould use iommi and Ronny james dio would be a great singer to have

they could get playable real guitarists like Zakk Wylde or a good singer like Ozzy or someone. The song Crazy Train must be in this game, if its not im not buying it.

Wow, I can't belive some of you guys aren't gonna buy the game because the model of the lead singer is different in two songs. He's not a boss or anything. Oh well, your loss....

Wow, so uncool. Bret Michaels completely sucks and so does Poison. I don't think I can even force myself to buy this game now. (Perhaps they could include a feature to take out Bret Michaels.)

i want to stick to gh (and not jump to rock band) because i hate mtv so much for all their cheesy shows, but seeing this guy for a minute in his reality show just makes me want to reconsider my choice.

Grimgravy, I am sure that Bret Michaels has had more women than you could ever dream about. Just because you hate his music doesn't mean he is gay How mature.

UUGGHHH....loser. Did anyone see his reality show, I like some of these celebreality shows but his is awful. I think it was the 2nd or 3rd show (couldn't watch anymore shows after this one) he comes out in pajamas for the girls to talk dirty to hime over the phone while his dang is being tested to see the growth from each girls "love" talk. when he came out in pjs he looked like a TRANVESTITE IN AN ELF COSTUME, hahaha. i mean it, this guy has aged horribly and now hes doing GH3 couldn't they have found a REAL "Music legend", geez.

This news is good. It should be pretty cool to see the actual lead singer of the songs singing while you're rocking out. Plus, its gets us 2 more tracks anyways. Its gonna sound dumb though hearing a cover of "Talk Dirty to Me" while the actual lead singer is on stage.

Also, they need to reveal the other real life boss really soon. If people keep thinking this guy is who they are battling, then they're gonna lose interest in the game.

He isnt a boss... he's joust a character..and will apear singing in Talk dirty to me and Go that far only ... And people naming Hendrix and Dimebag darrel as bosses ... they cant... they need to compose the song for the boss battle..and they cant obiously...

  • plutoknight

    Posted Aug 16, 2007 3:18 pm PT

Boss or no boss, this shouldn't really affect your outcome on GH3 (or the big GH3 vs Rock Band battle which is building to PS3 vs X360 vs. Wii proportions). And, imo, I dont care who the other boss is. I just want to battle the devil at the end of the game Tenacious D style.

To whoever said Hendrix will be a boss... Congradulations, your an idiot. A) Hes dead, B) the people that own the rights to his music would NEVER hand it out to a game C) If the other bosses are going do something like slash did, he cant. I Say, EDDIE VAN HALEN. That would be awesome. Playing eruption against him, while shooting powerups to break strings...awesome.

Ohh yeah, im guessing the reason they got this guy is because hes the cheapest person for the job. Bret Michaels will do anything for attention he hasnt gotten since the 80's.

Bret Michaels? Have you seen him play guitar? Can't recall? That's because he's a "singer" (we'll call him the frontman here out of respect for actual singers) who straps on the guitar much like Elvis did in Vegas: it sorta looks like he's playing, but you can't hear it. So why is he in the game?

Get some real guitar players in the game: Mustaine, Satriani, Vai, Malmsteen, Hendrix, Van Halen, Hammet, Page, Angus Young, etc... Talk about boss battles: Let us reenact the Karate Kid vs. The Devil in Crossroads! Instead they give us a washed-up attention whore who's only link to a guitar riff is via a hack (aka C.C. DeVille)? wtf?

    Bret Michaels?

    Give us Ralph Macchio!
