Report: DragonForce rocks Guitar Hero III
Score Hero reveals four new songs confirmed for rhythm game, including songs from Red Hot Chili Peppers, Iron Maiden, and ZZ Top.
Upon release of the original Guitar Hero, Internet message boards quickly filled with topics to the effect of, "Dudes, wouldn't it totally rock if [insert ridiculous song here] were in the next Guitar Hero game?" According to staffers at Guitar Hero tribute site Score Hero, it looks like at least one of those fantasized lightning-fast tunes will be in the next installment of RedOctane's guitar-centric rhythm game series.
During a community event held last Monday, Guitar Hero III developer Neversoft revealed four new songs slated to appear in the game, according to Score Hero site admin JCirri. During the event, Neversoft showed off the game's whole setlist, which included a master track recording of "Through the Fire and Flames" from speed-metal demigods DragonForce. For those unfamiliar with the fringe rockers, the band shows off its skills in several oh-so-helpful YouTube videos on how to play its epic riffs.
The three other songs named by Score Hero that will appear in Guitar Hero III should also pique hard rockers' interests. Adding to the game's extensive list of original recordings will be the Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Suck My Kiss" and Iron Maiden's "Number of the Beast." The site also reported ZZ Top's Texas tribute "La Grange" will be covered for the game.
Responding to a request for comment, a RedOctane representative confirmed that Score Hero had been at a recent community event, but would not confirm the four new songs.
Songs thus far officially announced to appear in Guitar Hero III:
Original Songs:
"Sabotage" by Beastie Boys
"Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns N' Roses
