E3 '07: Smash Bros. Brawl whacks Wii Dec. 3

Publisher reveals release date for anticipated Nintendo first-party brawler.

SANTA MONICA, Calif.--During its press conference during 2006's Electronics Entertainment Expo, Nintendo took the wraps off its next installment in the highly anticipated brawler featuring classic video game characters, Super Smash Bros. Brawl on the Wii. At the time, the game was dated to arrive in early 2007, though that date was later bumped at the Nintendo Summit in May. However, Reggie was quick to reaffirm that Super Smash Bros. Brawl would still make it to market in 2007.

Now, a year and some change later, Nintendo has used its E3 Media and Business Summit press conference to reveal that Super Smash Bros. Brawl will double-jump onto the Wii on December 3.

The newest Smash Bros. will feature several industry icons not seen before in the series. In addition to Wario, Pit from Kid Icarus, Kirby villain Meta Knight, and a Samus Aran sans heavy-metal duds, Solid Snake would lend his lethal stealth abilities to the game, cardboard box and all.

    You know what would be awesome, if you could upload your mii into it. They could have like a base mii character and every mii would have the same moves, but you could upload your design and play as yourself. Oh and I also pray that sonic makes this game.

    Online is confirmed! Plus to RESIDENTCHAOS47, It is unknown if Marth is being replaced by Ike but since Ike has different moves Marth may stay. (or get replaced by Sigurd) Ice Climbers are also in, and it's likely Game n' Watch is out. C. Falcon and Ness are in for sure. Other clones like Ganondorf will be redone with their own moveset, while Pichu and Roy kick the proverbial bucket.

    All I am asking for is online play. With online play, it will most likely beat Halo 3. (in my opinion)

    Snake in SSBB sweet. Could this out sell Halo 3??? there are more Wii's than 360's now. Probably not but I will still Buy SSBB. I wanna be Snake and Zero Suit Samus.

    Awsome now this will be cool. And i've heard rumors that sonic will be in this too. Coincedence? I don't know! but anyway this is gonna be an awsome game with a real 1 player mode

    I can't wait for Brawl to come out... >.> I believe Captain Falcon will make it because of Samurai Goroh being an assist trophy.

    I heard the following were taken out:
    Roy
    Marth: Replaced with "Ike"
    Ice Climbers
    Pichu
    Game and Watch
    Dr. Mario
    Young Link (I believe Wind Waker Link is false, because some random boy must've made it up)

    I believe that is all. Guess we have to again wait for months to pass for the truth to come out.

    I agree Altar360. It was stupid how they made Ganondorf a copy character of C. Falcon. I hope that there are no copy characters in this game.

    If this game has Live Online Play, and lives up to the hype then I'm set for another 6 years until the next smash bros game comes out. If it has online it better have a ranking system. It would make it even better.

    i wouldnt say the best of 07 because this is only in the Nintendo's line up, but this does look best for Nintendo i mean i want it for my wii but dont forget about the other big titles like Bioshock(pc,360), Assassin's Creed(Pc,360,ps3),and Mass Effect(360), and Halo3.

    I agree with smashbastard. Sonic really needs to be in this one. He had Wario beat in the fan polls so if Wario made it in then so should Sonic. Besides, everyone probably would like to see Mario and Soinc go at it to see who truly is the better icon.

    Padouke, The Koopa and professor you were talking about were A Hammer Bro And Mr.Wright. (I think thats his name.) They aren't playable,however, they are assist trophy,which basically is an item that when you pick it up, spawns a helper like Samurai Goro to attack your enemies. Check out the Super Smash DOJO!     that's what i like about nintendo, there not afraid to say"hey im really sorry but we want this to be the best game in the series so, can we have a few more months?" they're not afraid to have a few setbacks

    All I need is smash bros online and i will never want again. Theres just something about smash bros its timeless, I mean you'll play it and get bored lock it in a cupboard but then a week or so later your at it again. You don't get games like that very often
