E3 '07: Microsoft has Scene It

Publisher bringing a new exclusive 360 title to the world; special controller planned.

SANTA MONICA, Calif.--Microsoft's Jeff Bell has revealed that the company will be publishing a casual quiz game, titled Scene It? Lights, Camera, Action. The game will be developed by Screenlife Games/WXP exclusively for the 360.

Scene It? Lights, Camera, Action is a DVD board game played using a television and a remote control to pick the answers onscreen. Categories in the trivia game include questions on movies, TV shows, music, and sports. The game also features movie and music clips as clues.

The 360 game will be a totally new title, explained Bell, and will have "new trivia questions, puzzle challenges, and movie clips in high definition." The game has been designed to appeal to gamers and non-gamers alike, as well as to those both young and old.

Scene It? will come with four controllers called the Xbox 360 Big Button Pads--"for the same price as one Xbox game"--which look not dissimilar to those used by the Buzz! series of games. The controller has a big red button on the top to buzz in, and a series of other coloured buttons to choose an answer.

The game will be out before this year's holiday season. GameSpot will bring you more details on Scene It? Lights, Camera, Action as they become available.

wow...people need to seriously grow up...they did it first, no they did, no I did.

It's a game in it's own right...and aside from that any idea you have is not worth a lick of spit if you cannot bring it to mass market. For those things that do ultimately make it, be glad and enjoy.

A fun board game being brought to the gaming masses. Price tag might be a bit steep, but I'm sure that once you're playing, that fades into the distance quickly. Way cool!

To be honest, I couldn't care less. o.o If I wanted to play this... I would have got it when it came out four years ago. I would think that this game wouldn't interest too many people, considering it's already come out a while ago.

Ok people would you rather have MS make an Original controller and make you buy them separately because they had to put more development time and hours into making it or would you rather have a copy of something that WORKS for this type for game and have 4 of them included because they were able to spend way less time developing them.

I use to complain about how the original xbox didn't have enough games that utilized the 4 controller ports... this was not what I had in mind to fix that
I might still get it tho if I have the extra cash laying around after buying tons of REAL games for 60 bucks

Dang G4 cut to commercial during this part, I really wanted to see the controller LOL. So it looks very similar to the Sony one? Why didn't Sony ever bring this to the US?????

R-Force > It's not like Microsoft is making the game on their own. The people who make scene-it are working with M$ to make a 360 exclusive, not M$ only. So to everyone who says that M$ is ripping off Sony, get your facts straight.

At least tehy will be suppling all the controllers for the price of 1 game...thats more of a bargain than anything.

Sorry, but as many other have already said this a complete ripoff of Sony's 'Buzz' franchise! The controller even has the same 4 button layout. This is not new at all. Aside from that DVD triva games are cool.

My problem with the Buzz line of games is that you MUST have buzzers to play the game. Why? I'm not going to lie and say the buzzers don't make these games a little more immersive because they do; but there is no reason a bumper can't serve the 'big buzzer' function and the face buttons for the multiple choice.

I'd rather have the game cheaper and have the option of buying the buzzers separately.

A "baby toy" is just what MS is going for... trying to appeal to Nintendo's family audience.

    Posted Jul 10, 2007 10:06 pm PT

Well, it's nice. I like Scene it. But what makes me mad is I just bought the Marvel Edition 3 weeks ago, and the remote to play it on my 360... and now this. Great... lol!

and now people are calling Sony non-creative?
who did they steal this idea again??? if you bought an xbox360, this is just the start of Sony-Rip off microsoft will be bringing you...

So its a buzzer? That's it? At least it has 4 controllers with the game. I hope they aren't more than a cylinder with a button.
