E3 '07: Slash to be Guitar Hero III boss

The former Guns N' Roses lead guitarist will put in an appearance as a boss to battle in the latest version of Guitar Hero--Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.

SANTA MONICA, Calif.--One of the most hardcore rockers in the world, guitarist Slash, will be appearing as a boss to battle in the latest version of Guitar Hero--Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. The curly-haired rocker is probably best known for his strumming in rock band Guns N' Roses, whose hits included "Sweet Child O' Mine," "November Rain," and "Paradise City."

In 1996, Slash quit Guns N' Roses, declaring that he could not work with fellow band member Axl Rose. He then worked on a variety of different musical projects, including Slash's Snakepit and Velvet Revolver.

Guns N' Roses hit "Welcome to the Jungle" will be included on the Guitar Hero III soundtrack as an original song. Previously announced original songs include "Paint it Black" by the Rolling Stones, and "Knights of Cydonia" by Muse. The game was recently renamed Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, and a full list of all the unlockable guitars available in the game has been announced.

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock is currently slated for a fall release on the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii, and Xbox 360.

I think that Slash is pretty cool but Kurt Cobain (rip my friend) would be pretty neat. Even though he made the coolest band. He would make the coolest boss. Probably have to play "Smells like teen spirit" if you had to play him though. 5:01 seconds long. That would be fun. Though I do love "Welcome to the jungle" a lot. Good song to go crazy to!

It'd be even more awesome to see Randy Rhoads(RIP), Eddie Van Halen or Dimebag Darrel (RIP) as bosses but Slash is still awesome!

I suggested the idea of actual guitarrist being playable at one point, it's great to see that RedOctane knows EXACTLY what gamers want.

Slash needs more money so he can spend it on alcohol. Good to see his career has gotten this bad.

Slash is one of the only rock legends still around. I think he deserves respect and anyone who says hes overated(maybe he is a tiny bit) needs to listen to his music.

They shoud make Buckethead a boss. For those who don't know who Buckethead is, he's one of the most skilled guitarists (more than Slash) and he wears a bucket on his head.

    YES THANK YOU Gnorbooth
i totally agree, Dream Theater is way too good of a band and consists of very talented musicians that cannot be missed out on. John Petrucci is an amazing guitarist and should be included in this game or at least the whole group in Rock Band (which i'm looking forward to more).

NICE.but to the person that said ozzy sucks he doesn't, and he can not be the boss becuase he does not play guitar he sings. The real boss should be Tommy iommi the guitarist from black sabbath.Since black sabbath was the 1st band to play rock in 1969 and tony was the 1st heavy guitar player he should be the boss There better be the Black Sabbath song(s) Paranoid or Sabbath Bloddy Sabbath. incase you didn't know ozzy was the singer of black sabbath. -_-
