Namco Bandai unwraps E3 lineup
Eternal Sonata set for September, Culdcept Saga delayed until next year, Tekken 6, Soulcalibur IV, Hellgate: London not mentioned.
The Electronic Entertainment Expo kicks off in Santa Monica, California, next week, and while a number of questions remain regarding the revamped trade show, a sharper picture of the show is developing. Namco Bandai Games America today announced its lineup of games for the show, with five games for the Xbox 360, three each for the Wii, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation Portable, and two each for the PlayStation 3 and Nintendo DS.
For the Xbox 360, the publisher will be showing off Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation, Beautiful Katamari, Dynasty Warriors: GUNDAM, Culdcept Saga, and Eternal Sonata. Namco Bandai also updated release dates on that slate, with Eternal Sonata now expected in September, and Culdcept Saga delayed again, this time to the first quarter of 2008.
Dynasty Warriors: GUNDAM will also appear on the PS3, followed later this year by Time Crisis 4 (with the new Guncon3 peripheral). Rounding out the company's slate of new-generation console offerings is a trio of Wii games: Soulcalibur Legends, Namco Museum Remix, and Space Station Tycoon. Namco Bandai hasn't shifted entirely to the new wave of consoles, as PS2 players can still expect to see Digimon World: Data Squad, Naruto: Uzumaki Chronicles 2, and .hack//G.U. Vol. 3: Redemption.
On the portable front, Namco Bandai has Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology and Smash Court Tennis 3, both slated for release on the PSP this month. The publisher will also show Naturo: Ultimate Ninja Heroes for Sony's handheld. Finally, the DS will see the appropriately titled Namco Museum DS on display, as well as Digimon World: Dawn and Dusk counterpart games.
As is often the case when a publisher releases a preshow slate of games, some big names were conspicuous by their absence. As of press time, Namco Bandai representatives had not responded to requests for comment on the status of other anticipated Namco Bandai titles, including Hellgate: London (which will be copublished in Europe and North America by Electronic Arts), Soulcalibur IV, and Tekken 6.
