Try out the latest Harry Potter movie tie-in game with the new single-player demo, and give Quake 4 a shot with an all-new multiplayer trial.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, EA Games' latest film adaption game, now has a single-player demo available for download on GameSpot. Explore portions of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and cast spells such as Wingardium Leviosa by using your mouse or controller like a wand.

For those who never gave Raven Software's Quake 4 a try, a new multiplayer-only demo that includes three maps has been released. Note that this demo is only compatible in games with other demo players.

Additionally, new patches for Codename: Panzers and Battle of Britain: Wings of Victory have been released, as have new and updated mods for Half-Life 2, a pack of previously unreleased MIDI tracks from the original Doom, a new version of the True VTMB unofficial patch for Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, and a small wallpaper pack for Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix.

Shut up about Quake 4 and listen to the Doom music! You get Pantera tunes and everything.

Oh! I’ve been meaning to inform you guys at Sony about two important issues awhile back. It always slip my mind when I’m posting.
Sony really need to have a talk with EB Games and Game Stop. I’m not sure about everywhere else but in NYC the PS3’s & PSP playbooths are never on to demonstrate the systems. When I do make it my business to ask workers or managers. They give me some bs about how it’s broken or the plug doesn’t work. meanwhile the Wii and 360 booth are going strong all day. There’s always an excuse for why PS products are not active. I’m not just talking about 1 store location neither. A bunch of them are not showing PS3.
Also, Virgin megastore (42nd street midtown) are totally over pricing the PS3 at $800. That way people can pick 360 when making a purchase due to price. “man…you can actually do your car/insurance payment with $800. Just get a 360, its only 400 bucks”! One of the actual Virgin megastore employees at the register told me this.

I'm sure the MP would be a lot better if people would play. It's a very fun game when you have at least 8 people in a server. The game isn't gonna play itself people. I'm not saying it's the greatest FPS ever and everyone should play it, but people really need to give Quake 4 MP another chance. And it's far from "broken", well at least on PC.... I don't know about the X360. But the only problem I personally see with the MP is that people do not play it.

What's up with them releasing the demo a year and a half after the game came out?

The Quake 4 demo is just too little too late. I think some of the people that bought the game have given up on it and the people tat didn't buy it before won't go out and get it now.

i totally agree with mattcake, quake 4 was a huge POS, it was just doom 3 but brighter with terrible vehicle sections. why release a demo for a game thats been out for almost 2 years thats about 20 bucks if not cheaper new? i doubt theres even anyone that actually plays that anymore, theres probably more people playing quake 3 than 4.

So basically... Not much is going on. Let's face it... Quake 4 multiplayer is BROKEN and almost UNPLAYABLE... Great guys, I'd love to waste more of my life on that one... Like Prey wasn't bad enough.

It'd be nice if there were a demo for the Wii version of Harry Potter, I'm actually really curious to see how that would play.

Quake2 was my fave online fps ever, fast simple high-action gameplay (halo without vehicles essentially), Quake3 was a worthy enough sequel, Quake4 was a diabolical mess released in a state unfit for multiplayer, which considering its pedigree is unforgivable. The fact that 18months later theyve finally got a multiplayer demo out is laughable, no one cares any more, not even me, and I played quake1-3 for a decade. Sigh. iD need to make Quake5 themselves and shoot whoever was responsible at Raven for Q4

Quake 4 multiplayer sucks. This is just a ploy to get more people online with it because the Quake 4 servers are nearly deserted.

Eh, Quake 4's singleplayer was the awesome. Can't wait to see if a co-op mod unfolds...

Hopefully this will bring Quake 4's simple and yet fun multi-player back.

Great - a demo for Quake 4... maybe next we can get a brand-new demo for Perfect Dark Zero or Ridge Racer 6.

Why release a new demo for a LAUNCH title?
