Gamecock gets committed to The Ward
Upstart publisher bringing survival horror shooter from newcomer Renegade Kid to the DS.
Recently established publisher Gamecock is anything but ordinary. Last week, the publisher updated the release window for Red Fly Studios' warring-fungi epic. This week, the company has signed on to add a morbid streak to the family-friendly Nintendo DS's lineup.
Developer Renegade Kid today announced the rooster-enthused publisher would help launch its maiden project, Dementium: The Ward. Based in Austin, Texas, Renegade Kid was formed earlier this year by industry veterans Jools Watsham and Gregg Hargrove. Credits for the two include work on Stubbs the Zombie, The Red Star, Area 51, and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil.
Playing heavily on its survival horror theme, Dementium follows a man who awakens in a desolate hospital filled with disfigured medical experiments and other ungainly figures. Players must search for answers while solving puzzles and escaping the hospice of horror in one piece. Combining action adventure and first-person shooter elements, Dementium features gory visuals in a 3D environment.
No release date has been given for Dementium: The Ward, but an M for Mature rating is all but assured.
