GTA IV getting $90 SE

Pricey bundle of 360/PS3 title will contain game, soundtrack CD, duffel bag, art book, keychain, and...lockbox?

The $129.99 Legendary Edition of Halo 3 will be the most expensive special edition of a console game this year. However, today another eagerly anticipated title was also given its own high-priced package with extras aplenty. Rockstar Games today announced a special edition of its biggest game this year, Grand Theft Auto IV. The SE of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will run $89.99, some $30 more than the $59.99 a la carte game.

For the extra triple sawbuck, gamers will receive a bevy of extras. The game will come bundled with a limited edition Rockstar duffel bag and a book containing "never-before-seen production artwork" from the game. Also included will be an audio CD with selections from soundtrack of the game, which is set during the present day. No specific tracks were mentioned, but Rockstar promised that it would contain "new material from top artists available only on this release."

All the aforementioned goodies will come inside the GTA IV SE's oddest extra, a fully lockable metal safety deposit box. The bundle will also contain a special keychain with keys to access said lockbox. No photos of the box have yet been made available to the press.

Both versions of Grand Theft Auto IV will ship in North America on October 16 and in Europe three days later.

good i wonder whcih one i should buy. i'll buy the 360 version probably because of the achievments. I usually don't do that but i know that gta would have some ridiculous ones so i'll buy it for that.

I don't even think that the extras are even worth it. I can see some add ons to the game play or background.

I can't wait for GTA IV and Halo 3 to come out. They're my most anticipated purchases for the year. I'm a huge GTA fan, but I need to see these extras before I spend $90. And the Halo 3 extras sound great, but I'll be okay without them.

Neither halo nor GTA IV second edition, come on paying extra for a bunch of useless stuff. I'm so exited about having a ornamental helmet to put my soda on it, yay! please! gimme a break, and GTA IV have the soundtrack I can download for free in Limewire. Anyway I don't want to spoil your dreams so waste money one it go on!. With all that money I'm going to buy GTA IV, Halo 3, Devil May Cry 4 and Metal Gear Solid 4. So good luck! losers!

Google it! i did and it got soem nice images its kind of like a bag where Jack Bauer puts all his guns and grenades, which is awesome but if its the right size the LE would have to come in a 20-inch- tv-sized box, (which i hope it does) so whether i'm getting this or not will depend on the size and weight of the package.

darkmind-tvtome ttdog, how is a figurine more useful than a duffel bag?

Was refering to the strategy guide, the figurine would at least not take up as much room when its stuffed under the bed.

Not sure I'm even going to pick the game up let alone the SE, I lost interest a little with San Andreas, the whole eating and exercising thing struck me as being redundant.

I might pick up the Assasins Creed LE though, figure of the main character, comic book, behind the scenes DVD and strategy guide... somethings that could actually be used with the game... whats the point of a duffel bag?

It's not like they are forcing you to buy this version. Don't think it's worth it? Don't buy it. It's a pretty good deal for what you're getting and I'm in for one.

Still debatng on the Halo 3 Legendary set. That's a little pricey bu I want that third disc since the second disc doesn't inetrest m bu again, paying double for a game is a bit much....

I just hope they come up with a better game than that stinker called San Andreas.

When a special edition of a game goes beyond the usual "tin case", the extra stuff is closely related to the game; "lockable metal safety deposit box" & "duffel bag"... doesn't anybody remember movies involving bank heist? Michael Mann's HEAT?

I bet the hardest and biggest mission in this game will be a bank heist like the one in Vice City.
