Most of them nominations are good choices but why is resistance: fall of man a nomination for best graphics of the year because it has rubbish graphics, play the game on a hd tv and see how crap the graphics are motorstorm has better graphics.

oh yes i agree with that, and the nominee's are mostly a turd that don't belong in the category to being with. example:
innovative game, how innovative is GH2. same game, new songs and few smaller additon that matter only to fans. NFS carbon and Dead Rising in the graphics category, yeah whatever.

I find it interesting that they're not explaining their nomination system. I think someone's uncle pulled a few strings to get his idiot nephew a job. The categories are a damn joke.

i think Gears is a sweep for every category it's nominated in. that was the coolest game of the year by far. there were other good ones but Gears just took the 360 to the next level. not all of the 360 and PS3 games have been next gen games but Gears was definitely next gen gaming.

A lot of these categories seem really superfluous and dare I say to shill game they want to sell.

this looks like a list put together by people who don't play video games, they just look at other award shoes and take monkey from some companys and nominate their games
mistakes- 1.only 2 PC nominations, 1 an expansion, another one a kids game on multiple systems
2. even if Oblivion missed deadline on 360, nominate PS3 version, it didn't even get best PS3 or RPG!
3. RPG/Strategy in the same category?!?!
4. Zelda isnt really an RPG nor is hitman

LOL look at RPG/Strategy nominees. 5 games. 4 completly different genres(the only 2 even close are XII and WOW, which are still crazy different in execution). Ummmmmmmm... uhh... who made these things up anyway?

Another one: Trauma Center Second Opinion. Innovative? I loved my trauma center for DS but if it's just copying an earlier game(ok, new controls...), isn't that the opposite of innovation?

And PC games... WOW and ......... *drumroll*........ CARS?!?!! Ok, yep. Sham with a capital S. I don't even PLAY pc games outside of PangYa golf and I am completely insulted by these awards. Do these people not know who their audience is? Do they think we're dumb or something?! This whole thing looks to me like a block of swiss cheese. Poorly concieved, poorly implemented, and, to me anyways, kinda gross. PLEASE, EMA, leave the game awards to the people who know how to give them (i.e. GAMESPOT). Maybe that way they'll actually mean something in the public eye because there wont be 13 million kinds of awards to pick one. I wonder... you think I could host my own GOTY awards? I'll send the companies nice shiny plaques or trophies with little gamer dudes on top. I'll say to Blizzard.... "congratulations! your game is better than Cars! here's your trophy!"

This has got to be the WORST nominations ever, some really good games in there, but come on F***ing CARS, ARE THE SERIOUSE?? And how can you get Game of the Year, but now game of the year for its console?? This list is totally bogus. Worst of all is the PC list. Cars is BS and WOW, get over it. An expansion should never even be nominated. Plenty of other PC games should of taken those places.

Best racer ought to be Test Drive Unlimited, Motorstorm is just too Brown to be considered.. and only 7 tracks with no multiplayer... just smacks of overblown tech-demo.

Gotta admit, the PC category was pretty embarrasing. GalCiv2: Dark Avatar could have been on that list, and walk away with the award without a fight.

Gears of War has grabbed soooo many awards in other award ceremonies for Best Graphics,Game of the Year. Well, my point it why didnt it get more than 4 this year?

God of War II is easily the best game of the year. Gears of War will probably win graphics or shooter category, but that's about it.

Only 2 frigin games for the PC category and the other game is CARS?!?! Well,the "M" in EMA does stand for "Merchants" so i guess the number of kids who wanted their mommies and/or daddies to buy em this game after watching the movie outnumbered the number of gamers... Sheesh, who am i kidding? Even I can't believe i just said that! Where are those other great PC games?!? Personally, i thought Company of Heroes was gonna be in that category! I guess it didn't earn as much as the other two but they should have more nominees!
