Medal of Honor: Airborne landing August 28

The next chapter of EA's venerable WWII shooter series finally has a firm release date on the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

Last January, Electronic Arts shocked no one by announcing it was developing another Medal of Honor game. Titled Medal of Honor: Airborne the new title was unveiled as coming to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC in winter 2006.

That release window didn't last long. At the Electronic Entertainment Expo in May, the game was pushed back to the first quarter of 2007. However, when March 31 came and went, the game was still nowhere to be found.

This week, though, Medal of Honor: Airborne finally got a firm ship date. A trailer currently playing exclusively on GameStop.com proclaims the game will arrive on "August 28, 2007." All three product pages for the game on the site have also been changed to reflect the new date.

Developed at EA's Los Angeles studio, Airborne begins with one of the lesser-known campaigns of World War II. Starting with Operation Husky, the invasion of Sicily, players will strap on the boots of a paratrooper in the legendary 82nd Airborne Division and jump out of a transport plane. As outlined in GameSpot's previous coverage, each mission will begin with a harrowing parachute jump. Other missions in the game included Operation Neptune, the airborne component of D-Day, and Operation Varsity, which saw 30,000 soldiers parachuting into Germany in the single largest military airdrop in history.

All i know is this is the last chance im giving the medal of honor series for this video game. Because it seems for the past 2 years nothings has change but the story line a little bit. If there aint something that is a major change in this game from the previous ones im giving up on the series.

I've been waiting for this game for awhile now! I liked all of the Medal of Honor games on PC and I love the Paratroopers. Now with both of them combined I can not wait any longer for this game! Medal of Honor: Airborne don't let me down . Now the wait for August 28, 2007... for Airborne.

seems like a better storyline than usual and the idea of non-linear missions is awesome...clear up the gameplay issues that are riddled throughout the other MoH games and we'll see...

I feel sorry for u console guys, seriously. You get the left-overs of great PC titles. "Cod3" and "MoH Vanguard"...c'mon! Anyway "CoD4"'s coming and it moves to Iraq I believe.

Actually, Pacific Assault was pretty good. But then I played it last year, on a computer that was better that what was out at the time it was released, so I didn't have any framerate problems.

What waste you're money on games when the best game is already out? Gears of War baby will rock your socks off and help you save money at the same time!! Because that's all you'll play

There are a whole lot of mainstream gamers, who don't visit videogame websites, who will buy this game because they know the MOH name. I might even check it out if its an improvement in the gameplay department.

like seriously EA, who gives a crap...Call of Duty totally stole the "king of WWII FPS title" several years ago, and I seriously doubt after playing european assault, vanguard and rising sun..that you'll ever reclaim that title from Call of Duty

Enginwolf04 I agree 100% with you. The first Medal of Honor had me stunned with the Omaha Beach scenario. But since then the rest of the MOH games have been pretty doody. Lets hope they fix their mistakes!

I never did play a MOH game on PC or Xbox. I might have to give this one a try though. It might be the last WWII game from EA for awhile I would think. It's about time they move on.

EA will continue to produce WW2 games until they have run out of battles to re-enact with the Allies only winning because of Americans intervention.

Why let history and facts get in the way of another money-milking sequel.

Honestly, World War 2 games never get old!

They might loose the right feeling and atmosphere but the genre is still a good one. Play CoD2, that's a pretty decent WW2 game.
What if a "Band of Brothers" game came out, with the same atmosphere as the movie and a great gameplay. Then there wouldn't so many disrespectful little girls, like many of you.

Stop dissing the genre! Instead, start demanding better games for crying out loud. Damn.

Does anyone smell Rising Sun or Vanguard here? I doubt this is going to be as great as the first Medal of Honor for the PS2. Every single sequel beyond that game has been a terrible game with choppy character models, ugly levels, uninteresting enemies to fight against, and no sense of accomplishment. I am not going to be entirely pessimistic, but it's difficult when the you cannot match the intensity and fun of a game that is several years older ( I think it's been since 2001, so 6 years?). Who's with me on this one?

CoD has been whoopin' on MoH for a while now, this game better be good considering how long it's been delayed. Then again it's an EA game so I'm not gonna hold my breath! I'll probably rent this and buy Brother's in Arms: Hell's Highway cause that game looks sick and the other one's were great too.

Its about time to release a date!! For some reason I really don't feel excited about this game anymore?! Also, they need to make a WW2 game set in the pacific. Cause MOH rising sun sucks..
