Senko no Ronde invading US

Ubisoft confirms it is bringing G.rev's shooter/fighter across the Pacific in May; American version adds "WarTech" prefix to title.

Fans of all things Japan were elated in February, when several Japan-only releases were spotted on the Web sites of North American retailers. Though the publishers associated with those games weren't ready to confirm their domestic releases at the time, one finally admitted it would today.

Ubisoft announced that it will be publishing the Japanese game Senko no Ronde in North America under the slightly more American name WarTech Senko no Ronde. The Xbox 360 game was developed by G.rev Ltd. and will be in stores next month.

WarTech is set in a distant future where humans have expanded into other galaxies and nations are at war over the Earth, which is being used to mine natural resources. Players will suit up in one of eight Rounder Mechs and use special moves and power-ups to fight against enemies. The game features a single-player story mode and head-to-head battles over Xbox Live.

WarTech Senko no Ronde is rated T for Teen.

"Magna_Graecia: Anyway, good or bad, at least it's an alternative to the endless fps's that plague the 360."

Which just shows how little you actually know about the 360 games library, typical non 360 owner comment.

Good to see this coming over seas. I though this would just be another interesting game for importers, but if it is coming over here I will give it a shot. Besides it's not like we see many shooters these days. (Note to self get back to playing Gradius V)

I was pretty excited about this until I saw the $59.99 price tag. A game like this shouldn't be the same price as a Gears of War or other high profile games that have huge development costs. I was expecting to pay 30-40 bucks for it tops. I guess I'll just have to wait for it to hit the bargain bin, which shouldn't take too long seeing as I don't think too many other people are willing to shell out 60 bucks for this game.

This one looks like a fun title. I never saw it in the arcades, but then again I was too busy feeding my Battle Gear 4 addiction to play any of the fighting games. That and Japanese gamers are just waaaaay too serious about their fighting games. I saw one guy playing Tekken and his stats were 3400 wins against 1400 losses!

Anyway, good or bad, at least it's an alternative to the endless fps's that plague the 360.

In case you all are wondering, Senko no Ronde means the Dance of Polarized Light. Senko = Polarized Light. Ronde = Dance around.

WarTech or Dance of Polarized Light... Don't know which I like better... or worse.

I give up. To all those who don't want to play the game, please don't say it sucks just because it's not your kind of things, esp. when J-game fanatics like this sort of thing. Sure, I go for other games, but I like a little bit of Senko's art and design.

Anyway, it's a great arcade game. Yes, it was an arcade game first.

I just want to point out that this was already released in japan. I don't think MS is to worried about japanese gamers in america.

Earth Defense Force 2017 got my vote for 360 game of the year so far. Especially the 2-player split screen co-op mode. For $40, you really can't go wrong with this game.

Interesting. I've always been a fan of G.rev, but I don't know much about this game. Can't wait for the U.S. release, if for no other reason than to have a better idea of what the game is like and whether or not it is worth purchasing.

I too am interested in playing this game. I didn't expect it to arrive here in the states, but I'm more than interested. I'll wait until May, then I can decide which game I want more at the time: Earth Defense Force 2017 or Senko no Ronde.
