Activision and Hands-On Mobile have announced that Guitar Hero is going on the move--the game has been licensed for mobile phones.

The popular Guitar Hero series started in November 2005 when the first game was released for the PlayStation 2, and most recently spawned a PS2 sequel as well as a version for the Xbox 360, which is due out this week. There are also versions planned for the Nintendo Wii and DS, both of which have not yet been dated.

Hands-On Mobile games already released include Call of Duty, Lego Bricks, Monopoly Tycoon, Duckshot, and IQ Academy.

There are currently no details of how the gameplay will work for Guitar Hero Mobile or an estimated release date for the game, but GameSpot will bring you more information when it becomes available.
